Do you have a family to haul and big toys to tug? Maybe you need something like the Ford Expedition. It gets F-150s aluminum skin and room for up to eight passengers. But maybe, just maybe, you don’t need all this capability. Tom Voelk checks out a mid-level Limited model.

I‘d never buy this car (we use smaller ones in Switzerland) but Tom‘s review is great as usual. By far the best car reviews world wide in my opinion! 👍🏻👍🏻

I'd love to see it be all original around 200k like my old 98 Eddie Bauer model with a 5.4 ...the v6 isn't going to hold up as long or well I don't think.. Ford really should offer a V8 since it runs on f150 platform

No thanks Ford, I don’t care about your 3.5 Ecobust hairdryer having more power than the 5.3 and available 6.2 in the GM trio. I need the V8 roar no matter what!! 🦁🦁🦁

Also, the Excursion was a heavy duty truck. Not a light duty like the Expedition.

I think Ford made a mistake in not offering a V8 option. At least offer the 5.0 Coyote V8 and I'll bet it would be just as good on gas as the 3.5 EcoBoost V6 WITHOUT the headache of potential turbo lag or even turbocharger failure. Not to mention a bigger engine like a 5.0 or a 6.2 doesn't have to work as hard to generate power/torque.

I had a Chevy Suburban for 17 years and it was a great truck. But too damn big for nowadays. You really gotta need the interior space more than just once in a while to justify buying these big truck SUVs.

All these signature packages on a model vehicle is ridiculous and just fluctuate the base price of vehicles today.

I still prefer my '02 Sequoia over this. I get 20 mpg with my V8 with 270k miles on it. Will this Ford last that long?

@maniac32145 Since I bought it in March, the onboard comp says I've avgd 17 mpg. At the pump calculations range from 20 down to 15 per tank depending on highway / town use. Granted, I live in Illinois with no hills or traffic.

You mean 20 mpg going down the hill? Or it's what your old computer says? Real world test is filling up tank and seeing how many miles you drive, then divide...
Toyota sienna front wheel drive averages 18-19mpg combined. In real world driving.

At this price I'd rather buy a used LX570 or Land Cruiser. It'll actually outlast the Expedition after 15 years.

I think I am to practical too. These new interiors are great, but for a truck or Expedition that SHOULD be used for towing and offroad journeys, I just don't get them. My 2002 Expedition has seen over 350k miles, thousands offroad and it's been great. I love the Expedition. In every year it has been packaged quite well. This one is a bit soft for me.

Love my 01 expedition with well over 290k miles. It's been very useful, a blast to drive. Load floor is shorter than this new monster and frankly, I prefer the steering column mounted shifter over that hockey puck knob thingy. Cant even consider buying this newer style overpriced greenhouse.
