All-wheel drive crossovers haul people and cargo over tough terrain with ease. So does the 2020 Volvo V60 Cross Country but it adds a lower center of gravity for better handling when the roads are clear and twisty. Tom Voelk travels to Luleå Sweden near the Arctic Circle to test this low-profile crossover (okay, it’s a wagon) in its natural habitat in -7 degree conditions with fellow writer Jason Golson. And don’t forget about fika…

What???? 😥😳, what did you just say? 😥🤯🙆🏼‍♀️😳? How don't you like ABBA? Omg, you're the first. I've surely never heard someone say something like this about ABBA. So tell me, can the 2020 Volvo V60 Cross Country handle handle the African terrain?

Loved that you mentioned your Minnesota roots. Record snows here in Minneapolis in February, 4-6" of snow last night. Sun is shining. It is spectacular here like it is there in Sweden.

Driven Car Reviews that was one of our milder days. LOL. We’ve survived this winter so far. It’s been a slog. I’m reading a Seattle has had it relatively rough as well. I will say your reviews are top notch honest informative and realistic. Oh and a bit of humor goes a long way. Keep up the good work I look forward to each and every review.

When it was -10 in Sweden, it was 10 degrees colder in Minneapolis and Chicago. Don't think we weren't talking about it.

As an XC70 (2004 & 2014) owner, I am looking forward to the V60 XC. I much prefer the wagon profile. Wagons handle better than crossovers and SUVs,~ there is still some little boy racer in me that prefers handling over space in the sky. BTW, the Volvo touch screen is easy to use on day 2, it becomes very intuitive.

Yes volvos rule. The V70 taxi you see in the beginning is a 2015 with 380000kms on the clock 9 months ago. Probably 450k or more by now even tho it looks to be in a quite good condition. :)

I do not understand why americans do not like estate car. You always had huge saloons we in europe love the estate car and they are more versatile than suvs . The mercedes e class cross county, volvo v90 skoda superb audi a6
Then we have v60 skoda Octavia, ford mondeo, peugeot 508, audi A4, vauxhall opel insignia (buick regal), vw passat, kia optima, hyundai i40, mercedes cls sb, mercedes cla shooting brake, toyota corolla, kia proceed these are just a small selrction of the estate car available across europe

Mostly the stigma associated with station wagons over here, along with there being no viable affordable option for people in the middle class. Station wagons are seen as old fashion and only for old people. Also, the only estates here are luxury wagons and crappy VW wagons. While in Europe they may seem reliable. Over here, they are seen as unreliable, overpriced, and parts are priced over the roof compared to competition. Not a middle class vehicle.
Fun fact by the way. Most SUV's are really just higher wagons. Yes, they get similar gas mileage, room, and more. So there are wagons, but they are called compact SUV's in the United States.

+Emil ...The other issue with being that far north is that you have a really weird Sun. It sits low in the sky and is always in your eyes or you end up with long dark periods. Just not my thing. Move south and enjoy yourself.

+Emil Well there would be no snow or ice at "20°C" in the winter. In fact, that is warmer than Virginia and Maryland which is normally about 6 C to 11 C during the winter. I think you meant -20°C which is much much colder.

Let's get one thing clear and straight. These cars are not Swedish and the only real Swedish thing inside them are the drivers. They are made by Geelly, the company that became tragically famous with its fake Mercedes E class, using Audi 100 chassis. The interior is taken from Renault Talisman, with few polished details here and there, but overall it's a crappie car I wouldn't want to own.

+Driven Car Reviews Agree or disagree? That event of yours is also sponsored by someone, cars, fuel, video, editing, equipment, etc. Nothing these days happens on a free will without purpose. So most likely that whole "Swedish Volvo" campaign is sponsored by Geelly. We all know how aggressive the Chinese are when it comes to marketing and advertising. And why not? Using already known name as Volvo, cheap 4 pot engines, cheap Renault interior and massive exterior with presence. And total Audi-like marketing campaign. It pays off. At least in Finland 70% of taxi cars are Volvo..

Wagons are the best, true! Americans mostly don't buy them, unfortunately. They are better in many ways, including driving enjoyment.
I wish Volvo's were less expensive, more reliable and more fuel efficient. For now, pass.

By far the best looking design in it's class, love that Volvo has their own design language. Volvo for life!

Well, everyone makes unreliable crap now. Volvo has only one benefit that its made for cold climate and is rust proof.Ir you live in warm places you cat get much better quality for same price from bmw, audi,vw, and many others.

i have V40 2015 front wheel drive. i just cant tell you how much i hate turning ratio of that car. a bus can turn more and faster. especially i hate it when i have to park sideways. its just not possible to get in the line with other cars if you have no 3 parking spaces of space. i hope this car is better at turning. but to mention the comfort.... best seat ever
