The 2019 Acura RDX is more than just the third generation model to the brand, it’s a new beginning. The architecture, design language, and attitude are all clean sheet here. Tom Voelk travels to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada to drive the top trim Advance model. It’s a two-row sport ute that should be high on test drive lists.

Tom Voelk is an award-winning automotive contributor to The New York Times. His podcast was the first to win an Emmy Award. He also married way out of his league. Now, stop reading this promotional copy bragging about Tom's photography and editing skills and watch a couple episodes. It's much more interesting.

RDX A-Spec looks fantastic on the road, while all other trims seem to blend in on the road. Design goes from fantastic to bland real quick.

      Why does Acura scream BOOORING

Basically Honda/Acura is not capable of vehicle manufacturing, it’s a company for lawn mowers or motorcycles at best. The company is always bragging about interior/exterior of the vehicles, has anyone seen them bragging about engine or transmission? See how many problems they had in the past,
I’m just waiting my RDX 2019 to be recalled for transmission replacement, but what can they replace it with? This transmission issue is not only for RDX, it’s common to all Honda/Acura:

The 49K 2019 RDX Elite Trim does not come with Fog lights or the 16 Speaker 3D ELS system LOL...Really Acura? You have to get the Platinum Elite or the A-Spec to to get all that. Why Does the Elite Trim even exist

At 2min 58sec - are those ultasuede seat inserts mated to leather, or another material?
For the A-Spec trim, Acura describes the seating material as "Alcantara" - I was hoping it meant no leather.

Just test drove two with SHAWD. Buzzy and boomy in the interior at speed, bury your foot in it and the noise (not quality sound) coming from the turbo four screams low quality. Fit and finish were OK, can not believe how people would spend the dollars on this. A fully loaded Advance is touching MDX territory and after driving two of those, I would get an MDX (as we did) or look at an Audi. Way, way more refined.

RDX Lows: Touchpad tribulations, stiff ride, lethargic transmission The performance is more b-spec then see spec. Acura needs to free up the RDX Hardware to do its best work... Compared with last generation RDX, this new one requires an extra point for second to reach 60 miles per hour... Tires help increase skidpad grip by .04 G / last-gen, but this Utes .81 G still Trails almost everything else in the class, and the new tires howl when pushed. They only managed a 177. From 60 miles per hour also on the underwhelming end of the segment with soft brake pedal makes smooth stops tricky... About a spec branding is over promise to RDX is highly impressive stuff. It needs to be liberated. Car and Driver
