I got a question scotty, my mother in law has a 2012 mustang and someone pulled the escape latch in the trunk. Now everytime you hit the trunk latch it sounds like a Tommy gun going off, is there any way to fix it or just buy a whole new cable for the latch.

A couple of tips. Attach some wire to the old cable before pulling it from the inside. This way the wire could be used to put the new cable (attached to it) in by pulling from the engine side. And to test if it works, do it with the hood up before trying with the hood closed. Sometimes spare parts are not as good as the originals and may work in a diferent way or not work at all

Ever try cutting the old cable at the handle then tape the latch end of the new one to the old and pull them both through to the hood latch?
