You have got to be kidding me, 2019 and they still are using a physical key for the ignition?

I came here to start an issue. My 2019 rav 4 rattles. First 20 minutes of driving, there a strange rattle here n there. But after its fully warmed up. The rattle is gone. Weird. I do let my car idle for 4 to 5 minutes before driving off. I'm thinking the engine is cold so it rattles? It always rattles around the 900-1100 rpm in gear 1.

You shouldn’t let your car idle before you drive . Get right to driving after you start your engine .

So, to all the people who at some stage complained about the new engine in the new Forester to be weak compared to the Rav4, for what I have seen this new engine only feels ok when you push it hard, otherwise doesn't feel like a 200+ HP... torque steer? Yes, typically from an AWD system like this... I really thought that this new Rav4 was gonna be a "nightmare" to the new Forester, but I think after all the late reviews I'll stay with the Forester.

Wait a few years so that they can add more sound deadening, they wanted to make more profit by cutting sound deadening , but If enough of us complain they will respond by spending more money to make it quieter

      I own a Rav 4 2016.

I just test drove the Rav 4 2019 XLE and I was very disappointed. The engine is loud and the 8 speed transmission is constantly shifting and in eco mode the shifting is pronounced.

I love Toyota reliability but I can’t see myself buying the new Rav 4.

I am appreciate you tell the truth. Drove both 2016 and 2019 RAV4. I really miss 2016 RAV4 after I drove 2019 RAV4. Transmission has poor response speed which let me so down.

Did a test drive on a 2019 XLE and felt like I was driving a lawnmower. The lease on our Subaru Outback is up and they are behind the ball on safety features so looking for a different manufacturer. Like the Mazda CX 5 and am going to check out the Honda Passport once it gets into showrooms.

That's a Loud noisy interior cabin. And the Guage cluster looks like it's from a 1998 Nissan. Even a Honda Civic has a Digital Guage Cluster. For a 2019 this is unacceptable.

I think automakers are quite aware of that and that's why they tend to include BLIS as part of a more expensive package

funny thing is is that nothing is safer than having blind spot monitor yet none of the car companies consider it a safety option!

I test drove a 2019 LE and and Limited. I like them but the engine noise is entirely too loud for my liking. I question whether or not the engine is 200+ horsepower. It really seemed like it struggled when trying to accelerate on the highway. I noticed the lag. However I do like how the posted speed limit and other traffic signs pop up on your dashboard.

It’s a shame the rav 4 does not come with a power adjustable driver seat for the base model at a cost of 27k and coins and 28k and coins for the xle. One has to get a convenience package pushing the xle to almost 30k before you can get that feature. The rav 4 is no longer for the average car buyer who could not afford a luxry brand. It’s a deal breaker for me and rediculous at that price. Shame on toyota

Toyota cheaped out and rised the price by 2k. No sound deadening under the hood, so much plastic on bumpers, physical key, hubcaps for almost $27k. Go buy a honda crv ex for $28 with sunroof, android auto, more space, quieter and better handling suv.

This is the size of the old Highlander..... which is great, But Toyota, plastic seats on the Limited trim????? Can you please release a hybrid AWD Platinum package with real corrected leather seats????? I have cash in hand. I am your target market for the limited platinum package. I already paid cash for a 2018 Highlander Limited Hybrid Platinum package and was hoping to add a 2019 RAV. Your plastic seats are terrible.

Seems to me the hybrid is the way to go with the 2019 Rav4. The hybrid is quicker and better on gas. Plus, I heard it's only $800 more on the price.

    • Mitul Jariwala
Mitul Jariwala In reply to Desert Rat

$800 more than the xle price which is already damn high. Toyota raised the prices so much that the gap between the gas and the hybrid is only a little.

There are improvements from the interior, no doubt about that. It's still not quite as refined as the 2018 Mazda cx5.

+spruceguitar I was merely talking about Mazda's attention to detail to its interior and how high end it looks in comparison to the RAV4 and not about its reliability issues. I'm a former owner of a 2010 RAV4 and traded it in for a Mazda because there were mechanical problems. Thank you for your opinion.

spruceguitar In reply to H. Ng

Doesn’t even stand a comparison. The hyundai and kia suvs surpass the mazda cx5 these days in reliability. Can’t even mention “cx5” as a toyota competitor. Cheap is cheap. Mazdas are also known for having bodies more prone to corrosion than kias (which are pretty bad to begin with.)
Hope I’m not hurting your feelings. There are no cars on the road in north america today more corroded and eaten by rust than mazdas. Piece of junk.
Can’t mention that anywhere near toyotas.
