We got a sneak peek at the much anticipated 2020 Jeep Gladiator. This mid-size pickup truck rides on an extended version of the Wrangler platform, so, it's like a good thing, but more of that good thing. Micah Muzio had 20 minutes to shoot it and talk about it. Here's almost six minutes of pure Gladiator-ness. Are you not entertained?

Correction: The 3.0L diesel specs should say 260 hp and 442 lb-ft. Sorry for the error!

First, the commentator must be really short. Normal height people (6'+)don't fit well in the driver's seat. It's the main reason I don't own one. What kills me is, with all that rear seat legroom, why the hell didn't Jeep allow the front seat to slide back another 3" (and the steering wheel to telescope another 3") to accommodate taller drivers??? Also, Jeep has terrible reliability, yet this thing is going to cost more than a Tacoma TRD (not that we'd now that from this video - fail review).... The Wrangler version should top out at $35k with every option...

I feel that this is the Pontiac Aztek for Jeep. Except the Aztek was actually ahead of it's time in it's comfort functionality while this....this is just awkward.

      It’s missing two cylinders
At least offer an 8 as an option
The price that this thing will be asking would be in the neighborhood of half ton trucks with an aftermarket lift added ,which could STILL be cheaper than a truck that won’t pull 10,000 pounds

I could see myself wanting that but I just got a 2019 ram 1500 and I'm quite happy with it. I don't think I want that bad enough to trade it in and take a hit on the negative equity.

Man I don’t know... As a die hard jeeper myself (I’ve owned 5), this just looks awkward to me. I’d like so see something like a “new” Jeep J10 truck. I know the Jeep community asked for this truck (as well as Diesel engines), but not my personal cup of tea.

I would Love to have one as a company car to put advertisement on it an to gain awareness. I am so fed up with my boring Nissan Navara 2018, 160 HP Diesel, column shift. It is just so pedictable and unsexy. 40 mpg on highway because of the 4 cyl and 🇯🇵 perfection leaves no room for childish moods. However calling this vehicle a gladiator is not fit for purpose.

It's also ridiculously long because of bizarre CAFE standards that factor wheelbase length and track width to allow pick-ups to squeak by. That is why there are no short box single cab mid size (even full size?) pickup anymore.
