      Damn, don't follow shitty Hyundai trailers! There really should be 3 of those gusseted beams, one on each end and one in the middle. But I guess saving lives isn't worth the money...

      An attempt In 2013 was rejected .The proposed rule was not implemented after the trucking industry successfully lobbied the DOT to reject the recommendation. Industry representatives stated that the guards are not cost-effective and could result in dangerous weight increases to trailers and weakening of truck structures.!! So what prevents this needed improvement? Lobbyist and there money, isn’t that the American way? Money talks! Europe implemented these safety standards years ago. Hopefully the DOT will not follow another money carrot this time. This was a good video.
