Testing your starter relay is quick and easy. Just hook up a power source and check for continuity. A bad starter relay will prevent the vehicle from cranking or starting. It's a good idea to disconnect your battery before doing any electrical work on your vehicle. Be careful dealing with batteries. You don't want to cross the wires!

Tools Used:
Safety Glasses
Digital Multi Meter
Power Source (Lipo battery in this case)

Wheres the fuel pump relay? I'm trying to tap into it to make a kill switch

Great videos. I just bought an '04. Idle is rough on cold start. No issue at running temp.
I've heard elsewhere that this can be normal - something to do with the ULEV system intentionally misfiring.
Or, any of: engine mounts, vacuum leak, O2 sensor, ignition coils, etc etc.

Have you run into this problem? Just wondering how best to go about diagnosing

I have a question! Why do you say this is the starter relay but when I google the part number and at the auto parts they tell me this is the relay for the a/c compressor? I have an 04 TL part number for the relay I have is G8HL-H71

Thanks CarsNToys my wife's 04 TL wouldn't start I'm about to buy a starter. I tested that relay and it too works. The manual that I have doesn't even show those relays in the book so I thought wow no relay on this one. At least I now know where these other relays are hidden

do you happen to know the location for this relay in a 1997 Acura CL? I see 3 relays above the fuse panel, but their slots are labelled blinker, defroster and something else...I forgot, but it did not say starter or something similar.

I am having a starting problem. Was looking to replace this relay. Is there a part number for this relay. I asked Napa and pepboys for a Acura TL, mine is also a 05, starter relay and there isn't one listed for the car. If you had the part number I can fix my problem.

Problem with your video; that relay isn't the starter relay, my '07 TL started just fine with it removed. The more forward of the two red relays appears to be the correct one.

Hi I got a 2007 acura TL and my car would not start, the battery is new. I put the key in turn it and nothing turns on when I press the Brake the brake light comes on when I press the emergency flashers they flash, but turning the key in the ignition nothing turns on. So could this be the starter relay? I pulled it out to get it tested tomorrow.

      Hi
I have a 2004 Acura Tl , If the relay was bad would it take 3 or 4 times to start the car or could it be the starter that needs to be replaced? Sometimes I hear no clicks then I hear the click , then it stars.... Please I need your advise...
