Great on gas, utility minded, enclosed, small enough for the city but enough room for people. Almost perfect.

Infinite number of gear ratios? Well that would be awesome! Execpt that's not what a cvt is. They are finite, between the lowest and highest ratios. And they can achieve any ratio between the upper and lower bounds.

In my case i have a 2011 Mitusbishi Outlander sport (Front wheel drive and CVT transmission) and it got 302K miles and I never have problem with it. Of course I run it daily in the highway and mantainance are up-to-date. But yes, my friend got the AWD version and he say he got many problems with it.

I bought a used one (Outlander Sport PX Limited Edition 2013) from 50,000 kilometres.
I used it now until it reaches around 250,000 kilometres, not even a single issue anywhere. Tuned with Stage 3 TC and an ECU Remap. Amazing car, handles good, very durable, and indeed kinda fast!

Great review man. I have the 2014 SE Limited AWC and I gotta say its pretty nice, but Mitsu dropped the ball when it came to the interior. The panels rattle when the radio is on, and the cloth feels cheap, more like a Canvas. The flush mounted roof racks are also horrible. Its very hard to find rails for it without paying $800 for Thule. CVTs dont have gears but they have ratios. Its not really simulating anything. Its changing ratios just like a gear. Many people have beef with CVT's. Other than the fact that Mitsu does not allow hitches on their cars (without voiding warranties) I think the CVT is pretty good. It changes ratios with the Paddles really quickly. Bottom line, if you buy this CUV, get the premium package with leather and panorama roof. The lower models have a mediocre interior.

+Cara Jackson I believe the ECO mode simply lights up like a good pat on the back ''good job! you are not driving aggressively'' hence you are being ECO...notice if you do drive agressively the pilot light goes away!

now made in USA, quality is so so but the price is dirt cheap, starts around 20k
nearly identical dimensions as HR-V, it looks bigger and has third windows.
