You gotta take off the front grille, lower valance, and 2 fender trim tabs to get to the active grille shutters. The second from the top shutter is actuated by a little motor. I removed all the shutters except the very top 2, and used a step bit to open em up. The middle ones are easier to remove. Take your time and look how they snap in

Putting a 110v outlet in a bed of a truck would be a liability issue due to moisture. In home installs there as always a ground path to earth.Ground fault interrupters can only be used where there is a ground path.In vehicle inverters the vehicle chassis is grounded and the receptacles are in a location where is no moisture. You could do this in theory if you drove a ground spike into the ground at the work site and grounded your vehicle to this like the they do with tankers. No one would do this so that is why you get no bed receptacles in the bed.

was looking at an stx 4x4 with the 5.0. too many options when looking at trucks as they all seem nice from Ford,Chevy,Dodge and toyota. For 40k for the STX I am interested in 4x4, I can get a Dodge 2500 4x4 tradesman with the cummins for 42k which is what i think i will go with.

The 110v outlet maxes out at 400w, not many power tools can stay under that, can they??

Great practical review. Good insights beyond just repeating the specs. Agree need 110v in the truck bed.

They better hope the gas prices donโ€™t hit 4 dollars a gallon again or they will be 54 thousand dollar lot orniments. I just got a 2018 and they have really cut back since the 2015 came out. 302a doesnโ€™t include inverter, back glass or led lights. Extra 850 for that on xlt power equipment group now. And no more box link. Have to pay for that 10 speed

I had a 1998 F150...ran fantastic, but got into an accident. Bought a 2008 F150 King Ranch...better than great truck and still runs smooth! BUT, the bumpers rusted out...makes it look like crap now, but overall, the truck has done a stellar job on everything I asked of it! Ford...watch how your might overprice yourselves...you now have stiff competition!

Lee Villiger I mean, working at a ford dealership, we still sell some base model f150s that we often discount to like 25k. For a modern vehicle, that's pretty good. The thing with the more expensive f150s is that, you basically get a lot of the features found in luxury cars, while having a product that can tow and haul alot of stuff and that's pretty reliable, not to mention, they seem to hold their value better than I believe, all other trucks, so long term, a pretty solid investment.

On the Ford Escape, you can set the camera to stay on in Neutral and Drive until going forward 7MPH then it goes off.

The differences between your 94 and the 18 are astounding.Other than the tec the chassis are far superior. Did you notice the car like ride and the superior brake pedal feel. This is like comparing a rotary dial phone to a I phone.Just saying.

Now you need Chevy and Dodge to loan you trucks. This was a great user review, as far as longevity and repairs we wont know until these are seven or eight years old. Really a good idea Ford should listen to about, putting outlets by the tailgate, after all, that is the workbench out in the field.

Dan 101 Nice, I hope you enjoy driving it for years to come. Personally, it's my dream to design exteriors for ford, but I have immense respect for gm. They make alot of great products, your truck lasting as long as it has is proof of that. My friends still driving a 23 yr old Tarus that hasn't really had any issues. Despite what people say, I believe American cars are pretty reliable.

Good to hear fixed the carbon buildup design. Think I will drive my little 98 K1500 350 chev forever though. I live in Oregon so very little rust. It's wet here but not much snow and no salt. I see the underside of those csrs from you area and recoil in horror. You guys talk about rust repair like an oil change, There is a lot of skill in doing right, and work, Great vids.

Dan 101 There are alot of ebs that are 7 or 8 yrs old with hundreds of thousands of miles on them. By turbocharged engine standards, they're pretty reliable, some of the most reliable turbocharged engines out there. Ford's only made them more reliable over time with additions like port fuel injection, so now these engines have port and direct, which should, alleviate the direct injection, carbon buildup issues you find in most direct injection engines.
