I think if you want a regular daily car the le is better but if you like to drive a little faster than the se is better

I'm leaning towards the SE. Are both on the new TNGA platform or just SE?

I've been shopping for 2019 Carolla Hatchbacks because they have the better TNGA handling and 2.0 engine but the 2020 SE sedan might be the way to go. 16" wheels on the LE look a bit small. The 18" wheels on the SE look a little bit too large. Hmmmmm

I've driven both, and the 2.0 in the SE is super fun.  The 1.8 in LE is kinda boring, so I would vote for the SE.  My question is:  WHY DOESN'T TOYOTA OFFER THE SE AS A HYBRID???  It would be a for sure winner in my book.  I'm sure the sporty wheels would decrease gas mileage a bit but who cares??  I think ppl want the best of all worlds.  A SPORTY LOOKING HYBRID!!  You can't even get a sunroof on the hybrid model.  crap

I'm really liking the SE styling, except for the rims.
It seems absurd to think that the first thing I'd want to do is get a set of steelies and LE hubcaps on an SE.

Do you like spending thousands of dollars for luxury features that cost only hundreds at most to add or do you prefer to invest the difference and make enough to buy another new car outright in 20 years?

XSE all the way! Lol The SE and XSE get the new more powerful engine. And the better transmission. No contest!

+darting oh I thought the XSE could get the 6-spd. Oh well, even if you get an automatic SE/XSE they have a better CVT than the LE/XLE/Hybrid (SE/XSE CVT has a special launch gear for faster acceleration and to reduce wear on the CVT belt)

The GRILL on the SE (the left one) looks way better as it looks smaller and not so much like a gaping fish mouth.
On that one thing alone, I think I'd have to go with the SE for the 'Looks'.
Then again, the SE has the way-better automatic transmission in it, with a first 'Gear' added to the CVT, so that's another plus for me. A third thing is the fact that the SE has 30% more horsepower than the LE, so that makes it better too.

I like the SE but would buy the LE because of the wheels. I live in pothole country and if I had the SE I'd be buying a couple of wheels and tires a year and at their Toyota prices the SE will get old pretty quickly after the annoying inconvenience waiting to get towed and shelling out big time.

Will it kill Toyota to redesign the hubcaps? They're too boring and they've been using the same style since 2003.

Really like the SE in the Celestite Gray, reminds me of the older Slate Metallic it replaced. Plan on getting one in January when the lease on my 2017 SE is up.
