Whats your thoughts on the new GLE?

Just throwing in my 2 cents, GLE starts out base with a 4 cylinder version which is literally garbage, it makes the car as slow as a Hyundai Palaside which is unacceptable for a MB. Then even their 6 cylinder version isn't as strong as the I6 from BMW. The only edge MB (subjectively speaking) is the interior where a lot of people think is better than BMW interior. I can see where they're coming from and can agree in some areas. Their instrument cluster does seem better designed than BMW's.

Porsche are stuck in the 90's, BMW is twice the car.

My guess is that you don't take everything into consideration before deducting that the X5 is twice the car in respect to the Cayenne.
The X5 looks awesome. There's no denying that.
But what about the other factors that make their products less desirable than Porsche's?
Like constantly changing parts that are purely cosmetic, that in turn cause the very same people who took out loans to lease a car they already couldn't really afford to want the next version of their year old vehicle.
It breeds discontent within their customer base, which also floods the already saturated market with even more maintenance heavy vehicles who's previous owners were (for the most part) morons with driver's licenses. Not taking care of vehicle's such as these the way they aught to, and causing already sub par materials and build quality to show wear, and cause problems before the warranty is up.
Now, how to keep selling the unit's they continue to produce and not show losses? Oh yeah! Let's offer super low finance and leasing options to these "MORE, NEW, NOW, SHINY" minded people and get them thinking they can afford it, even though it's ethically questionable.
What does all this end up causing the industry, and consumers?
MONEY!
Money or lack thereof, that contributes to the hyperinflation crisis that is about to send a great many people back to the Stone Age.
That's why Porsche and Audi's motto of
"Evolution over Revolution"
Is congruent with the "Quality over Quantity" mindset of the mindful people who produce their products and the consumers who purchase them as well.

Who said anything about being the most profitable?
Of course Porsche will be the most profitable, the price of the product is extortionate in respect of what you get for your money.
You have to pay for everything if you want most features that other cars come with as standard.

Although, whomever your salesperson at Porsche was, who told you that the adaptive cruise control and active safety features weren't available in the Cayenne when you ordered it was full of bull-hockey.

For the money you save on the BMW you could upgrade to the 50i or even the M50i and absolutely destroy the Porsche. The quality is very comparable. Porsche really can’t justify their pricing especially on the options!

3 clocks for the Porsche... on the instrument panel, the monitor and the dash is overkill. Porsche really needs to get rid of the analogue clock on the dash it's outdated and boring.

Did you consider the Mercedes GLE? Why did you choose the BMW over the GLE?

I got a much bigger discount on the BMW than I could get on the GLE. I think they are both great cars!!!

The Porsche in that white paint and cheap looking wheels compared to the BMW make the BMW look way more luxurious and expensive

Good review. Love the X5 but if price isn't an option the Cayenne is better in every way. It just costs about 20% more when optioned the same

So is it correct that in the US you can get a garage door opener? I have previous model X5 with that feature in the UK but this option is not available upon the 2019 model.

Would only buy car from Porsche not a suv

I wanted the Porsche but bought the X5 because of price. I love the X5 and now feel good that I didn't miss out on anything, In fact, I got a lot of the bells and whistles I didn't know weren't available on the Cayenne. Only caution if you buy the X5 it takes some time to understand how everything works. Plan on making a couple of trips to the dealer to understand all its features .

Man I am torn between X5M and the Cayenne turbo. Both fully loaded.

you can air kick the left side lower bumper of your cayenne to open or close the trunk cuz it seems you have keyless entry option, and theres a glove-box on the trunk door to place your fist-aid package

This was an excellent review. ((Very informative)). I purchased A 2019 X5 40i in February . An I absolutely love this SUV . It’s very fast with a Powerful in-line six engine. But I’m Shocked at the Gas Mileage that I’m getting with such a strong engine. It gets at least 26 miles to the Gallon on the highway, an at least 20 in the City. As well as all of THE Safety features that come standard with this SUV . The SUV is very Quiet. An the Harman Kardon Sound System is Awesome.
