After World War 2, Toyota began developing an off road vehicle and it eventually earned the name Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser has a strong history as a capable 4x4 and today as a luxury SUV. This week on Dirt Every Day, Fred Williams introduces us to "Peter the Beater" his new beat up, high mileage '93 Land Cruiser that he'll be fixing up for this year's Cheap Truck Challenge.

Dirt Every Day appears every other Thursday on the Motor Trend channel. www.youtube.com/motortrend

Regardles the model generation, the Land Cruiser is an extremly capable and reliable vehicle. BUT... and yes, there is a very big “BUT”... for on road use, an day to day use, there are far beter options on the market. Unfortunately Toyota never managed to make the LC suitable for bough worlds...
In the real world, the LR Discovery is a far superior vehicle.

It is not US consumer who like big rig means nothing but waste of gas. Toyota land cruiser best 4x4 king on the road (meaning real road not 10 mins shooting). Lasts 20 years easily. US made truck lasts 🤔 2-3 years. Ok 5 years at max ( trying to be generous)
