BMW X3. When is an SUV not an SUV? When BMW decides to call it a Sport Activity Vehicle, SAV for short, instead -- as is the case with the BMW X3.

The X3 is one of the newest breeds of SUVs that forgoes off-road pretense in favor of on-road performance. While easy to dismiss as a marketing ploy, BMW's X3 SUV -- er, SAV -- does indeed offer superior handling in addition to an improved view of the road, a comfortable interior and the latest automotive technology, which are all valued features regardless of how the X3 is classified.

MikeIsiah ...I have a 2007 X3 3.0 si. This vehicle is clearly nicely in the range of a number of buyers still looking for these. Perhaps I missunderstood the intent of the posting but I took it to indicate that we need to review newr cars than those from 2008. Had he indicated that he was more interested in how these cars have aged over the 10 year period, it would make more sense to me. This was not really indicated though...

...yes it's a shame that there are absolutely no buyers for used cars....what were they thinking...I mean when was the last time someone bought a 2008 used car.......I would guess never..,and I'd probably be right...damn it..

      Good point for god sakes..

I had a ride in this same model year and I was super impressed by how quiet and smooth the car is. The engine is so smooth and rides nice. It's a fast car and probably quicker than many sedans. The seats and materials are OK but the new one is way better. I definitely recommend you check this out and I don't think it's crap at all. I've rode in Buick Regal 2011, and the new Lexus NX. BOTH do not come close to the ride and handling and I used to be a lexus fan.

I just payed deposit for one with diesel engine(because fuel prices are sky high here). Anyway I read a lot about it, and opinions vary, some say it's crap, but some say it's a very good car for it's price(it's like $9-10k for good one 07-08) and is quite practical. I drive 3 series now, but as I'm 6foot4 I have difficulties getting in and out of it, so I need something taller. Anyway thanks for the nice comment.

I had one of these, and had it exactly for 3 months...what a piece of shit, the aerodynamics of a shoe and the fuel consumption of a burning gasoline barrel. I still remember the day I sold this fucking turd.

@whatever0481 Amen..BMW X3 is a extremely overpriced machine. You can get a loaded Acura RDX for much less, and you get more for your dollar too.
