We spend a lot of time behind the wheel of our automobile. Most people typically speed and dread the sounds of a police officer or sight of a police officer in our rearview mirror. With a recent speeding ticket hurting my wallet it made me think more of why did i Spend over $600 on a radar detector that doesn't work. Here's my new solution. Make sure you download Waze on your smartphone.

I think what's some folk are missing after they watch this video is that it's important to use Waze IN-CONJUNCTION with a radar-detector because unless you had the radar detector and without you being aware of where The Hidden cops running radar are, you can only make visual contributions to the WAZE- Network, you are a much more valuable resource for the WAZE-Network if you are using a radar detector!

adrianpl was looking through the comments to see if anyone realized this too.. looks like you might be the only smart person here 😂

laser speed guns read your speed instantly with no "leak" that can be detected.

a laser warning basically just means you're fucked if you don't have a laser jammer. (illegal in some states)

I was just in Louisville and I'm amazed you got pulled over. My dad was doing 70 on the highway and everyone was passing us. We were on a 45 zone and my dad was gong 60 and people were still passing us at a quick rate. Honestly Louisville drivers put me on edge more than any others.

I have owned a Corvette. Never got a speeding ticket in that car. My Honda Ridgeline “2.” Crap back luck car/truck wasn’t fast at all but it just stuck out black cherry pearl . Corvette is go stink fast and I never felt need to prove it so I drove like it was fast and I had nothing to prove.

I also own an Escort Max 360 radar detector and it used to give a lot of false alarms on K-band for the reason you outlined however if you plug it into your computer and update the firmware the detector effectively filters out the radar from nearby automobiles used for blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control. Try the upgrade and you will be very satisfied with the detector's performance. Most cops now days use KA-band but a few still use K. WAZE is OK but not very much help looking for speed traps. Most police move around enough that WAZE information is not that accurate.

This dude sounds like a colossal ignoramus.
He shouldn’t use RD’s because he’s a Dummy and cannot figure them out.
There is no doubt Waze is terrific however a quality detector and laser jammer combo is the ultimate. I literally save on speeding tickets EVERY WEEK.
      “False readings” 🤣🤣🤣.
Stop using sh*tty detectors and learn how to read an alert.

And this is why I sold off my Escort Max 360 and bought a little cheaper one that works well than that expensive ripped off detector. (had 3 tickets in 5 months cost me total of $1,380)

My Uniden R3 on Charger and Uniden R1 on Lancer both has been a great investment for me that saved me thousands of dollars on tickets for couple of years now. (no tickets since.)

I'm not against waze since I do use it when travelling in and out of town and even just around the city saved me a lot of headache whether it be constructions, accidents, police etc.

Is Waze an app for a phone or a device with a screen like a garmin gps ? I do not have a smart phone so I tried finding a Wave police alert device online but I could only find a Waze App.

I turned off X and K bands on all of my Escort Redlines (first gen). Everywhere that I have been, State Police use Ka or Laser. X and K are dead.

Mud Puddle depending on where you live. My local still use K and most highway use KA but I passed a pulled over vehicle the other day and my K band was going off the charts. So it seems that some highway use K still. I turned my R3 down to 30% on the K band to lower the false alerts.

      Hey Chevy Dude,
I feel where your coming from with detectors falsing. I have a 2001 V1 radar detector and only have one speeding ticket for radar since I have owned it 18 years ago. Yes it does false but the newest detectors today are so much better than they were back then. As for a good unit for blocking laser all you need is a good Laser jammer. AL priority and the TMG are the best. Here is a video of me back in the day testing a Blinder Xtreme laser jammer. This video is to educate you on how laser works and that a Good jammer is effective. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBuK9Lh1gRY

Here’s an idea. Don’t make a video on total nonsense of an opinion. Radar detector is a tool. Use the right one in conjunction with the waze app and stfu

Chevy Dude now imagine you have not had your detector in your car. This one ticket doesn’t come close to the countless ones it’s saved you from.

I use waze driving to work everyday. I’m one of the first on the road. How does waze help me when I’m the one reporting the police locations to the app for the people behind me? Good thing I have my detector to help keep me aware and ticket free.

Drive smarter. Post less click bait videos. Have an opinion but don’t state it as fact.

Great video, having an application or radar detector to curb people speed is a good thing. As a Leo in Texas I can attest to the fact that our goal is to keep drivers safe on the road way. I do use countermeasures to achieve this goal, i2m on Waze and we'll post numerous officer sightings on dangerous curves in the countryside too slow traffic versus giving out tickets. It doesn't always work but I'm usually the only one in the county on at a given time so I can take all the help I can get. Stay safe out there, and hopefully no more speeding tickets!

My radar is accurate as it gets, I'm in New Zealand, police operate on ka band mostly, I have selective on/off bands, I keep k band off, ka band on, x band off, I have ka band filter as well as pop mode and laser mode, I can detect police on open highway from at least 5km away, I also have the option of city or highway mode, just no directional functions
