Hello, i bought a 2009 Acura TL and I'm the second owner of the vehicle I am.about to complete one month with it but all it's done is give me problems. It has 151,700 miles on it and just 2 days ago I was getting home from the store n I couldn't turn into my yard because the steering wheel became hard and I could only park by the curb. I put the car in park and all kinds of lights started going on n off n the head lights flickered n the A.C. turned on n off and between the RPM and MPH it flashed CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM, CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM, CHECK BREAK FLUID, CHECK POWER STEERING,......so I turned it off. And no one knows what's wromg with it. Can u tell me your opinion please. I've been through so much n I feel I don't deserve this to happen to me being that it's the first car I never bought on my own. I'm a single mom with 2 boys in school n a low paying job I need someone's expertise....??? Can u help me???

Andrew Draxlar In reply to Dice Flawless

Dice Flawless let me clear the misconceptions. The tranny issues are only ‘common’ on the TLs from 1999-2003. The ones from 04-06 were improved and were less common compared to 99-03. The trannies on 07-08 years however are reliable and rarely ever go out. if you do fluid changes every 30-60k like you suppose to, they will be reliable.

i am going to buy a 07 tl. it has 120k miles. the only problem wich is commen is the dashboard and theres oil around the oil pan. so im thinking the oil pan is bad or a gasket may need to be replaced. they want 6000 for it so it a pretty good deal. they are not easy to find since this gen of the tl is the best looking.

Had problems 1 and 2. #1, air bubbles in reservoir, loud noise, and no power steering. replaced the o-rings but no luck. Replaced Power steering pump and was good to go. #2, Hands free always drained my battery. If the car sat for a wknd, battery always dead.
My dash eventually got 2 big cracks/slits on it. Cd player just shut off 1 day and wouldnt read CDs anymore.

Keep all fluids change and just never had a problem. Car has 171 thousand miles on it now had it all over the world.. But i only drive it once a week sometimes two will go by before i drive it..

I have an '06 TL w/6-speed manual. It started grinding going into 3rd gear. First the dealer changed the fluid to some other kind of fluid that was supposed to "fix" the problem. It _helped_ but did not _fix_ the problem. After 3 or 4 trips to my dealer, they did replaced the transmission, and it's been fine ever since (like 5 years).

Question I just purchased an 03 Acura TL s type and the dick that sold it to me didnt tell me that the front headlight didnt work. So needless to say I had to replace it but it wasnt just the bulb apparently it was a combination of the ballast/igniter I eneded up paying $200 for a whole new headlight from a junk yard (bcuz I didnt have another $600 to buy it brand new) plus $100 for someone to put it on. So anyway it was working for about 2 weeks or so and then stopped again. We changed the light bulb thinking that was the problem and it came on but we had to mess wit it like flick the lights off and on a few times in order for it to work. But now once again it's not working. I have to take it to get inspected but I kno it won't pass bcuz of that. It seems like u kno ur shit about cars especially these kind so would u happen to kno what it could be? I really appreciate it bcuz I obviously don't kno shit. Lol tia
