Tires with round edges. They work in wet snow only brand new. Spin a little bit and they are gone..

Good motricity (all wheels turn), but these tires are not made for snow.

Fred Fred The tires are actually not so bad. I think, that only studded tires would be better on this icy underground.

That’s way too much acceleration, I’m assuming it’s auto?

      • SDRGaming On stones and gravel yes. If you would do this on snow and ice, where the wheels have no chance to find grip, the wheels would only spin very slow without moving the car. You have to „dig“ the car through the snow to get moving.

CARS EXTREM I was always taught that if you lose traction say in mud, gravel or snow moving off with the clutch and no acceleration is required.. this is how I drive my X3 and I’ve gone up much steeper inclines. Good video tho, keep up the good work 👏🏻🙏🏻

      • SDRGaming • SDRGaming Manual transmission. I had traction control on, which stopped the wheels from spinning and took away the speed to get up the hill. At the end, when traction control stopped intervening and allowed full throttle, the car made it up the slope. On snow and ice you need spinning wheels. I made a Video to this topic recently: https://youtu.be/fO4PeY_Dmj0

CoolKD2005 They are actually not that bad. I had worse winter tires before. On Ice only studs would help, but they are illegal in germany.

They are completely new, but it is a very old generation of a Continental winter tire. This is the only winter tire, which is recommended from BMW for the X3 E83 in the size I need. All other BMW recommended winter tyres from other manufactures are not available anymore.

My 5 year old cheap gt radial tires seem to do better in snow. Never got stuck here in austria

+CARS EXTREM thanks for your reply
i only have the 4x4 light on. When i break hard there is abs, when tires are spinning there is electronic braking and power restriction and also when trying to drift there is interaction... So no system is in my opinion off by just pluging te actuator motor of the transfercase.

With Style I have heard, that DSC is not able to work without xDrive. I had no ESP and ABS, when my transfer case was broken. The lights of ABS, Brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system and 4x4 were shining in the instrument panel. Did you have tried an emergency brake? I had to do it at that time and this was very dangerous, because i couldn‘t steer. All 4 tires were blockading, I went instinctively of the brake and was able to steer around the other car. Luckily no approaching traffic were coming.

With Style In the videos I have new Continental 4x4 Winter Contact from 2017 on the car, like you can see on the end of the video. The old tires I mentioned are backup wheels, which I have lying in my garage. I also had only rear wheel drive, when the transfer case was broken on my X3 E83 2.0d, which I had owned before. But also all stability program didn‘t work. It was kind of fun in winter, but also sometimes very dangerous.:)

+CARS EXTREM 7 year old tires thats also the problem. The compound is way too hard for those conditions. I now have Pirelli sottozero 3 and its a night day difference in winter compared to the above mentioned cheap and old gt radial cheap tires
Now i can get through 90% of the winter with the transfercase turned off(manually disconnecting the cable.. So just rwd... But witb stability stuff on because then you cant deactivate it any more) here in austria.
