Jerry Tesla is so, so far ahead of everyone else it’s not even a contest. They drive faster, further and will have level 4 a.i. Software very soon. No worries mate.

Wissen ist Macht Wissen ist Macht people are buying them primarily as high technology not interior beauty. I agree they have a ways to go but no German car currently possesses the electric range, acceleration nor infrastructure for quality high speed charging plus soon level 4 and even 5 Autonomous driving. They definitely look better on the outside but they seem very well built in general. Most of the panel gap issues are long gone. The door issue is minor at best. Cheers. Don’t forget most German car companies have had at least 50-100 years. Tesla has been only since 2003.

So many tesla fans are being offended by this report. Too bad Tesla's crappy cars are going to go downhill in forsiable future and definitely Mercedes will take over the global car market like always has. PERIOD. Also to all of the misinformed tesla crying babies: with the help of mercedes was elton "busk" lunching his garbage junk.

No Tesla doesn't have to worry. He laid out the blueprints for his cars as an open source for other to see, so they too could start building electric cars.

Before I even saw the inside, I thought to myself, the obvious style theme they went with was "Custom PC". A lot of these next-gen vehicles have that same look, I am guessing to appeal to millennials and younger. As someone that hand builds all my own PCs, I've tried to buy the version WITHOUT the RGB when possible. I still want the top quality items, I just don't need it to look like a 70's black light poster or there is a rave going on inside the case anymore lol.

I liked that they had a lesser "pc blinged" version there as well. It looked better, though hopefully, they make the blue accents in the headlights optional or at least give you some color choices. All in all though, well done by Mercedes!

dude get your facts right... u dont know anything about cars... this junk looks like a cheap version of a Toyota... comparing this junk to a tesla is like comparing a flip phone to a smartphone... and besides we are now in 2019 and Mercedes hasn't produced one fully electric car don't talk about production numbers... no other car makers anywhere near what Tesla has accomplished.. and as Elon said just recently, take a tesla model S from 2012, you still cant find any cars being able to compete with that tesla model s from 2012

If your city is powered by nuclear power, then yes, this is much more sustainable energy. If powered by coal, then no..not sustainable. Even if you have solar power. Batteries are not sustainable resources. You waist a TON of resources to create batteries.

Marten Dekker Nuclear is still way cleaner than solar + batteries. There is no comparison. Nuclear has only one byproduct waste....water.

Rortiz: Batteries can be recycled into new batteries...& Tesla batteries are now expected to last more than 300, 000 miles. So, using solar or hydro electricity = far less pollution.

I've read somewhere that Volvo and Porsche are also on their way to having all electric options.
Anyway to me range on a single charge is where it's at, good acceleration is also nice, but in most places you'll never use your top speed for anything.
Another fly-by thought is that Mercedes probably kept the mechanical door handles with emergency safety in mind.

I am a Mercedes guy. But an electric car with only 200 plus mile range and a top speed of 110 mph is not advanced technology right now. Average owner/ driver doesn't care about the battery size and shape or the number of batteries or where the engine is placed. The only way This Mercedes model can see the light of the day is by selling at a way below Tesla model price . Hopefully Mercedes will do that and from that point they will be able to hop into higher technology models.
