Initially, I didn't like SUVs/CUVs because I thought they were just ordinary hatchbacks jacked up to look tough. But now I wonder. The taller body gives more room and a more comfortable seating position. Vision is better. The weight penalty is not too much, it doesn't weigh a lot more to make a taller box. In fact, the modern SUV is returning to the original car roots from 100 years ago. Tall, good ground clearance, very big wheels, practical and boxy.

This market segment is evolving fast, as many consumers tend to pick SUVs and crossovers over beloved sedans. So many manufactures have indeed catered to the needs of consumers, making these vehicles, as you stated, more practical and capable.

+Automotive Territory: Trending News & Car Reviews I don't think luck has anything to do with it. Renault will be cheaper and less complicated mechanically and technologically. Mercedes aimed for high end buyers for their coupe-SUV vehicles unlike the French they seem to target lower and wider sector of buyers. Of course this is my own opinion and only time will tell :) .. thanks for your reply
