If Ford doesn't do the Raptor version of this truck they will be losing a lot of money, so when is the debut date. I've got my check book out. Nice job on the video and thanks for sharing. Now all I need is the money to cover the check. Can I get some crowd funding, please!?

Why are the bed sides so high?
Why 18 gallon fuel tank, when the Tacoma has 21?
Why the 2.3 when the 2.7 would work less and get better than 26mpg 2x4 which is what the F150 gets with that motor?
Why no power outlet in the bed without a bed liner?
Why no flat load floor in the second row like the F150?
Why no 60/40 bench with rotary drive shift?
Why no locking storage in the cab of the truck?
Why the tailgate doesn’t automatically lock and unlock with the doors?
Why no second auxiliary battery option to support more power charging options in the cab and in the bed?
Why no 8” wide wheels to fit beefier tire packages on factory looking wheels?
Why no real out of the box thinking like an integrated trickle charging solar panel built into the roof? Enough to keep a bed cooler going, interior cab heat/air conditioning and a laptop when the truck is off.
I love the 10 speed and that the hood has 2 lift struts... I love the lane keep assist, and the brake assist, and the advanced cruise control...

Hankook makes great tires. I’ve run them on several cars I’ve owned over the years and on our SUV.

I am going to wait till Ford turns the turbo 2.3 into duel injection like the 2.7TT and Gen 2 3.5TT has, I don't trust turbo GDI only. I'm almost sold on this truck, I don't trust the engine in long run.

I can see guys now putting lift kits and bigger tires on it. Its gonna look really nice. Not a fanboy of any make/model but I think Ford did a good job of balancing form and function here. Not perfect but a general all-around improvement over the competitors in this market.

Probably my fault, but I haven't seen you in a review in while! This was great. 😁 I think if I were to buy one, I'd go XLT Super Cab. I'd want the 6' bed - if people want to come along, they can drive themselves! Heh.

Wait for the raptor version. They're going to bring it, once they get some sales figures for this regular ranger.

The FX4 package is a bargain for the rear locker alone. You can't do any of that cheaper than the $1295 the package costs. You can still do your own lift and tires later on if you want more.

NotaBRZ NotaMiata In reply to David Morin

You must also add the STX package as well so it's closer to 2 grand. But I agree, you get a lot with that FX4 package. Wish it was stand alone.

Dont need no expensive terrain management or crawl control for sissies. Needs the durable 3.5L not a turbo i4. I’ll stick to a frontier. Its a real truck

There’s a Honda Ridgeline, but it’s no where capable as the Ranger or Tacoma.

Where did you get your pricing info from? Lol @ 39k being the upper limit. The truck you were driving was well over 40k. An xlt with the fx4 and sport package in 4wd crewcab is essentially 40k.

      +benjaminwayneb I believe it. I don't deny that most people won't buy a manual, I'm just saying I won't buy an automatic.

30% of vehicle sold in the US in 2018 offer a manual and only 2% were sold with a manual.

Sqeptick I haven’t owned an auto since 2007... so yeah I feel ya.

It’s hard to choose a slower and less efficient vehicle though. Before it was a no brainer. Better gas mileage and faster. Now not so much.

+Firestarter I don't disagree with you. Just saying that as a guy who currently owns two Ford cars (stick shifts), it's a bit sad to think I may never buy a Ford again because they're catering to people who don't like to drive.

    • Firestarter
      Firestarter In reply to Sqeptick

Sqeptick they won’t miss you. It’ll cost them more money to cater to you than they’ll make off the validation of that transmission alone.

Why do you think manuals are evaporating? They’re not making money nowadays.

      Focus RS engine. I’m sold.

    • Firestarter
Firestarter In reply to Benjamin Burkhardt

Benjamin Burkhardt far from it. Different turbo, cam profiles, tuning, oil pump, fan, and other bits to make this have less power and maintain high duty cycles.

Maybe you’ll get the focus rs head gasket lottery. Hahaha.

A tuner and 91+ octane should help to get you close to rs power though.
