Considering getting a bike next year. Ugh🤦 manual is going to be a bitch for me. Never rode a bike before ever and always drove a automatic when it comes to cars never a manual. Though with s bike it's different but still manual is going to be a bitch for me. Wish they made bikes automatic. Like I know they do but you have to tell them to have one made for you and that cost extra money. And that sucks

Ok, just from watching the FIRST 55 seconds of him riding I paused the video at 0:59 seconds to put this response comment in.
I am realizing this.... He is throwing the clutch which is a bad habit as I was told.
I never rode a motorcycle before, so if im wrong please someone correct me, but i have always been told and even seen it a few times on youtube where people are saying 'dont" get into the habit of throwing the clutch.

Yeah, on a bigger bike the torque or jerk will be more intense and could easily fly underneath him if not careful. but on a 250, hardly feel it that bad (very manageable)

Quick question, is that the normal loudness for revving and shifting (at around 2-2500 rpms) or is he pushing it to around 3-5? it sounds fairly loud and i just wanted to know if thats normal. doing some research before getting into the motorcycle world

What add-ons would be a good edition to my a bike I just bought. (Kawaski ninja 2008). I know frame sliders are a must but anything else?

    • MotoMike
      MotoMike In reply to YoungTO

+StaticGamer I actually don't recommned frame sliders. I have heard a ton of people who went down with frame sliders and they snagged on the concrete and actually bent the frame, aka totaled the bike. I would much rather have my fairings scratched to high heavens than to have my bike frame all mangled. Just my opinion. I'm sure other peoples opinions are different.

+ProxGaming go to dealer/mechanic around your place and ask to "Adjust" your monoshock suspension. it's not that expensive though, we don't have to change it with the new one.

+Johny40Se7en would you really recommend a new rider who has just got onto bikes for his first time to wear full moto gp race leathers?

I wear atgatt every single time I ride now. when I did by first lessons, no gear, when I got the license, no gear.

when I brought my bike and took it for its first ride (second time in my life using a motorcycle) I wore head to toe full gear and dropped the bike, because I was so uncomfortable and restricted. I was completely not use to wearing the gear. i couldnt feel it.

I stripped down the gear to a jacket, gloves and helmet wearing jeans while I practiced for the first few days and then eventually rode in riding pants and boots. the boots where very hard to get used to but now I wouldn't ride anywhere without the full kit.

at some point though I had to resist the urge to take off the gear and just knuckle down and get used to it

Just take it slow close the throttle keep your fingers near the clutch then hold in the clutch and shift up if you let go of the clutch to fast you will stall your bike witch can damage the gears $500 repair

Actually a lot of people do. I do too....since i'm const manipulating clutch for slowing down with engine (pushing, releasing....etc....) or reving engine up....and releasing it at certain circumstances to get that stronger initial pull oand grip when cornering etc. And no force on the pedal, my foot/toes... is/are just above the clutch, my heel is resting on the floor.

I just have a stupid question in which I probably already know the answer to...I'm a new rider so I'm just trying to get every little knowledge as possible to help me in being a successful rider.Do you have to down shift when coming to a complete stop or slowing down for traffic?..Meaning,if you were in 3rd shift and came up to a stop sign, then the bike was still in 3rd gear, and you made a complete stop, what would happen?,..I'm just guessing that the bike would shut of as you accelerated and you have to get it back into the right gear which is first to continue past the stop sign,am I right?...

I turned 50 last week and I just brought myself a Ninja 250R. I have just starting to learn how to ride around the block in 1st gear. There is no such thing as a stupid question when you are learning.

    • Phlats2811
      Phlats2811 In reply to Jerzey

Sum Jerzey Pride Well it really doesn't matter what gear your in, as long as you have the clutch in when you come to a stop. And when you start going again, the bike must be in 1st gear or maybe 2nd to avoid stalling it!

+Karolus Magnus Im gonna be a new rider in the next few weeks and I am getting a Ninja 250 (I did research for the best choice for beginners bike) I can drive a stick car but my point is When im slowing down in a car, I Downshift or throw in nuetral then pop it back into first when I get to a stop sign/light. Can I do that with the motorbike?

I don't know the answer, but I just wanted to say that it's a valid question, and not stupid.

There really isn't any stupid questions. If you're unclear about something, better to ask than fuck it up. God forbid you go without that knowledge and get hurt.

yea you can put it into neutral but that's a really lot of down shifting, when I do ride,i'll probably just keep it in 1st gear when slowing..engine breaking....probably a lot easier when slowing down as I learned in the safety class I took...
