Best review of third row room. I think Subaru missed the mark as the third row is still only useable for small folks. Families will outgrow them. I have a sequoia and anything smaller...not useable. But...the Subaru’s coming out since 2015 are on point and I intend to trade my 2016 legacy and buy the 2020 legacy or outback XT. I hope they make a full size suv and truck.

Look at the highlander. A nice vehicle with a 6. A real engine. Which you deserve when you pay that kind of money. It's the heart of the car Yes you really need an engine.

I would buy one tomorrow if it had a 6 300 hp option. Weighs toooo much for a 4

You need a 6 cylinder 300 hp engine to move that weight vehicle a four cylinder engine 2.4 engine is a joke. My vw has a 2.0 and weighs lots less

Would anyone know if I'm able to get a second row bench from Subaru and replace the captian chairs? I'm looking to do that I just don't know if the screw dimensions would match

Do either of the 7 or 8 seats fold flat (carrying plywood, sleeping, etc.)? Why wouldn't you show the folding feature with both choices in the video?

I wish you would have shown the difference between the two configurations laying down when all seats are stowed flat. Otherwise very helpful!

That 3rd row legroom is horrible! Can't wait til kia telluride and hyundai palisade come out as they are 4 inches wider and offer a lot more features for the same price!

How you gonna compare these two if you don't even show the cargo room and fold downs?

John Shaver the middle seat back springs forward.."Oh..that was aggressive!!"..bahahahaha..thanks for the morning laugh. Great video. We are in the process of buying a Limited, if we can find one. They are going quick.

Does the bench seat fold flatter than the captains chairs?

Great presentation except for the irritating “you guys” “you guys” peppered throughout.

Not being able to get a Touring with 8 passenger is a deal breaker for me. I like the Java leather and ventilated seats but can't have them on the Limited, also the Smart rear view camera and 180 front camera isn't available in the 8 seater. That is too much safety for 8 people I guess.

Our new Ascent has a serious technical problem. The check engine light came on and all the safety features shut down. Once at 400 miles and now at 1,000 miles. Dealer service had to call in the Factory Tech. They think it might be a bad wire and are ordering a "bulkhead wiring harness". Sounds like a pretty serious issue. 2 weeks in the shop.

One fact I noticed too is that if you want to use/need the cargo space in the back with the third row folded, then you're limited to only four people with the 7 seater. The captain chairs are nice but you are limited to four with the third folded down if you need the full cargo.

Are the captain chairs removable? I had a 1997 Odyssey (when it was still small with 4 regular doors) and we sometimes took out one of the second row seats entirely to make more cargo or golden retriever space. It was just a matter of releasing a couple of latches and lifting it out, not disassembling anything.

Interesting video but atfor over 12 minutes long i would think you could also compare cargo room and configuration when the second row/chairs are folded flat. The video could have been 5 minutes long and offered the same information.

Subaru has great dealerships and sales people.....what they need is a vehicle for families. what if you have 3 kids in car seats? 3 mini vans are available out of all the suv's and trucks that's it if you have little kids. AND the moonroofs have huge potential for not being safe in car accident they are not made of same glass as windshield but of glass like windows. and look at the size of that moonroof. AND you can't get premium choices in any vehicle in any company without moonroof. $35,000 and up for a vehicle and you can't choose the features your family needs. TIME for a real company to make a real family vehicle. I nominate Subaru....please do it fast

The Ascent with the panoramic roof has to support the whole weight of the vehicle if it rolls over. That’s a federal requirement and they just don’t shatter if the can ends up on its roof.

You can get the limited model without the panoramic sunroof and easily put 3 car seats in a 7 seater
