The Honda Civic is finally back on Indian soil. The 2019 Civic gets massive changes over the previous car that was sold here and most importantly it gets a diesel engine now! The 2019 Honda Civic is also loaded with more tech and features. Honda is offering the sedan with 2 engine options - 1.8-litre i-VTEC and 1.6-litre i-DTEC. While the petrol comes only with a CVT, the diesel gets a 6-speed MT. In this video, we find out whether the new Civic is as driver-friendly as the older one.

The best price tag for cars in India is 8 lack for luxury hatch.. 12 lakh for sedan.. 15 lak for suv entry level.. Rest of the upper segment are going the audi or entry benz , BMW.. Etc. People can buy something good but it's the service cost which pushes away from buying one. Had Honda city was made affordable it would have out sold swift.

India never gets good cars. The civic petrol would have been perfect if only it had a Manual transmission.
And where is the parking brake lever?

Honda civic in the international variant is also hatchback type design with 40/60 split seats which increases the practicality of the car
It doesn't offer much in comparison to Honda city for 8-10 Lakh extra
lacks petrol manual and noisy diesel
it seems Honda is not interested in selling civic in India or they have low confidence in sales

Also what civic offers extra from city? For the 8lakh price difference
No power, No ventilated seats No increase boot space and still has halogen light etc

      Honda civic has three models
They should have launched the hatchback version rather than a sedan
Because at this point sub is better as you can fold seats and increase boot space

Does Civic justify 8lahk differences from city
      Or Honda is becoming lazy

    • Monkey Mind
Monkey Mind In reply to wilton ghost

      No,
      features and practicality matters
The civic hatchback is much more practical and has higher boot space than a civic sedan
At this price point, it completes with SUV like MG Hector which has a lag-free touchscreen

@bhavana g For driving pleasure in this segment Skoda Octavia is far much better with a bigger engine and outright power but Octavia looks outdated in design and looks like an old uncles car which never gets the second look. with the new Honda civic my experience is people drooling all over the streets because this kind of design is new to the Indian market & I just love the attention it gets!!!
