      Six engine choices and only one that’s worth having that you won’t spend $$five grand fixing later on. The V-6 is a POS the 2.7 is a POS none of these are pretty typical engines and you would not want them in a pick up truck for longevity as they are non-reliable and will break down with mileage The 5 L is the only choice to have in a Ford pick up truck the rest are cost ridden. add four cheats by giving you the 2 Wheel Drive mile per gallon figures with 95% of all trucks in North America are four-wheel-drive typical Ford BS!!

      I drive a F150 crew cab 4x4 with the Ecoboost 3.5 . I pull a 7500 pound RV Laredo. I pull the high Lake Charles La bridge and never slowed down. I got 10mph pulling and average 18 local not pulling and 21 Hwy! Great engine. Use a Husky Centerline Hitch

      In 2 days i am taking delivery of a 2019 F-150 XLT 4x4 super cab; 4x4 . I am getting the V8 coyote. This is in my mind the Ford truck engine. It's the simplest engine that has great power with decent mileage. Plus the low V8 rumble is nice. My father would say; Ford has been making V8s since 1932. I think that they know what they're doing. Oh the. 3.3L is ok. But, revving pretty high to get to really work; i don't like that. I love a slow turning engine. Low end is what i like. That engine. No.

      What about long-term reliability? Turbocharged engines typically won't last as long as a normally aspirated engine. The 5.OL V-8 has been made by Ford for decades and is proven to last. I'd also be leery of trusting an engine based on a Land Rover engine. Granted, the Land Rover diesel engines were/are better than their gas engines, but they still have reliability issues that just won't go away.

      They started out saying the 5.0 L V-8 does well at altitude but ended saying it was not so good compared to the Ecoboost engines and lacks low-end power. Contradictory.

      My brother's 1970 F250 4WD. Crew cab, 4 speed stick, hi range and low range. 4.9 liter inline 6. Maybe it had 150 HP. As far as I know same engine, transmission and axles that only had wrenches used on the to change the oils or replace the clutch. 300,000 miles. Drive it 200-250 miles put in 20 gallons and add a quart of oil at 300,000 miles. Well he sold it, then he realized he could not replace it.

      I love the high output Ecoboost engine on my Raptor. So easy to make extra power with these engines. The biggest problem was the sound. I fixed that with a new Air Intake, Turbo Adapters down pipes and exhaust. I've had zero issues with the engine after 25,000 so far. I guess it's because I bought the truck from a dealer 800 miles from home and drove it back to break the engine in gently

      The predecessor to the 3.3 was the NA 3.5, which was converted for use as the original 3.5 EB. The current 3.5 EB (Gen 2) was designed from the get-go as a turbo engine, just like the 2.7. The 3.3 is a fleet engine.
