Back doing something stupid again. Stupid and fun. Im having a good time going overboard with my "$35 trail truck." These kits are fine for light trailing but i was bored and decided i wanted to try my own concept. I know its not pretty from the bottom but it works. I would love to 3d print a mount and flatten the belly but it is what it is. Ridiculous and pointless.. maybe....

How do you get the shocks to not rub the tire at that angle? I'm having a problem with that right now. Thanks man, great video!

@Adam Davis i also did something more recently to change this setup. I used the adjustable mount plates and inverted the front shocks to keep the chassis from twisting under the power of the 540 motor i put in

Yes i discussed this in either this video or the next one. I had to put 5-12 mm adapters which spaced out some wheels that I have. With offset rims

Hi ya. Am following this build as I wanna do something similar. I have a question......oh. ya just answered it😁 I was wanting to know which tranny or gearbox you installed.
AND, I don't think you're going too far on this or any other build. Cuz if ya were, I would be crazy too😁
I really enjoy taking a " toy " truck and upgrading and modding it to make something that will be comparable to a big name RC crawler.
I think that WPL really fill a niche in the RC hobby. Their trucks are definitely NOT hobby grade, but being able to replace any part is awesome!!! Cheap too.
      I have the C14, C24 and the B36 Ural too. Also have a Fayee 004Osh Kosh 6 x6. It is Bada$$, 😂 .

Off center hole in the yoke of the drive shaft LOL "Use a drill press and get it centered". 540 stock motor LOL "Low wind/turn motors have no torque, use a higher wind/turn motor 35 to 55 turns" The shock mounts LOL "Either notch out the chassis rails or flip the shock mounts over so they lay flat on the chassis"  Gear box LOL "small drive gear of motor and a large spur gear to will only lessen the torque, the motor should have a large gear and the trans should have a smaller spur gear than the motors drive gear". Thanks for wasting my time.

Go to the Facebook groups. Humdreds od people put tjeir shocks this way. Zero leakage. Youre so stuck in a theoretical world you dont look at the actual product. Its ok idc. I only have the most powerful and capable wpl on youtube but what do i know. Waste of time. You clearly need to keep your "thoughts" to yourself. Fucking know it all....

@KB 21 bro you're a serious jackass who thinks he knows it all and is clearly a waste of time. J put the shocks the way the come on many many 100s of rcs so kiss my ass for one. For 2 installed them the way i wanted for clearance to turn my big tires you clearly don't have a handle on MY truck because i have every shock spaced from the chassis. It doesn't bind at all thanks. The shocks dont act naturally because its so light and the coils are too strong. So whos wasting whos time. Dont watch 1 video ASSume you know MY truck. Wtf

Everyone I come in contact with these WPL trucks. Even in this video, the guy has the shocks up side down. But I did not mention that. Oil shocks the oil chamber attaches at the bottom on the axel for a few reasons. 1) Oil wont leak out from the piston rod's seal because it will be pointing upwards, 2) installing the oil shocks up side down yields clearance for the shocks to collapse and rebound without the oil chamber binding on the chassis. You should be able to compress both shocks installed and the chassis should rebound. In this video the shocks oil chambers bind on the chassis thus the rebound does not happen and the chassis get stuck, LOL. Like I stated a total waste of my time.

      Okay. Do tell.
Hmmmm. Am doin a lot of the same. NOT that big can motor though. Don't really need that much torque.
But......I DO have a Traxxas Verlineon brushless motor sitting around.

Wow. I have a Slash too. It also has issues. Probably similar to yours. The OBA has quit. And because of that, the ESC won't put power to the motor. Or, the ESC is shot, and that keeps it from running? Dunno? I ordered the wrong ESC. I ordered the XL5 instead of the XL3S😣. Yep. Now I have an ESC I don't need YET. Pretty sure I will burn something up and use it.

@Hooptie Rides&Reviews Uh huh. That brushless is from my Stampede, may it RIP, was gonna stick it in my 2wd Slash, but the OBA, On Board Audio may cause issues? So, it's collecting dust.
Thinking the FAA WILL NOT allow me to pilot it under my UAVs permit for my quads.
What do YOU think? A bit on the too high RPM side?
I can mod the aluminum single speed gearbox to fit, put a LiPo in the bed, the Traxxas ESC in the cab?, But,
am thinking twisted frame, the brass P and S gears de-toothed and lots of air time. Or.....a crumpled heap of molten styrene, magic smoke and the dreaded ' walk of FAIL. I hate that 😁😭.

definite "Captain Insano" power there, Tim Allen would approve! I'm pretty happy with a pair of these things: https://www.ebay.com/itm/16MM-DC-5V-12V-Mini-Full-Metal-Gearbox-Gear-Motor-Speed-Reduction-DIY-Robot-Car/323222217245?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=512295756103&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
the 12v 855 rpm works out to be 790-ish on 3S and 530-ish on 2S, was a breeze making the center casing for them, and cheepo 20A ESC is plenty. 2S gives a decent walking pace, plenty of torque, they hold position on really steep inclines too. makes the WPL dual N30 setup look slap silly weak (hey WPL take note!). haven't done it yet, but Gabriel Silvaz has sliced the hood to open for battery placement right up front with easy access.
rim weight? wrapped them tight with 2mm solder between the tire beads, 3 wraps stretched electrical tape cut a little wider (narrows as it's stretched), with a spot of CA at the end to keep the e-tape locked compressing the solder to the rims. it's not a fast setup but does climb really well.

Since you have metal links the easiest way to is the angle on your axles. Is just too make the top Lynx a little longer and it will change the angle of your axle making it more straight into the drive shaft.

at this point, look to the MN-D90 recently released. barely larger but has larger axle casings with larger bevel gears in them, larger drive shafts and U-joints.
"a285004" hydraulic shocks look to be a pretty good fit for it (seen on Gabriel Silvaz channel) with very simple to make extension plates.
