Both great fun. Just personal preference. I'd have the disco in the UK as parts are everywhere and cheap, but I wouldn't turn down a hummer either!

I've owned an 03 disco and an 08 H2. Speaking of plastic, I swear I was always buying plastic parts that were falling off of that stupid disco. I liked it and it was good off-road and the girls seems to like it, but datgum did I get tired of working on it. That was at 80k miles! The H2 is at 130K and it's doing fine so far reliability-wise.

this is why i love your disco videos, yes they can be a bit unreliable, but parts are plentyful and cheap they will literally go anywhere known to man and they are just awesome 4x4 to own

This is so not a fair question... You do not own a Land Rover Discovery II series SE because of reliability, You own one because it says "Land Rover Discovery II series SE". It will take you where other vehicles can't. One thing i have noticed driving other 4x4 vehicles, The Land Rover steering wheel really works, other vehicles take you where they want you to go. If i need to be somewhere i take my Toyota Tacoma 2002 4x4 TRD, If i want to go somewhere it is with the Land Rover... for sure!

H2 is actually pretty reliable just ugly and the frames are actually pretty unique it doesn’t just sit on a Tahoe frame.

Land rovers are probably the least reliable trucks made. Total piles of undependable garbage. A Land Rover isn’t worth having bc it will be broke down every time you turn around. Save your money and get a Toyota fourrunner instead. Consistently ranked the most capable and most reliable 4x4 suv on earth.

The H2 is probably the most embarrassing vehicle you can drive. Just look at all the fake shit on it. Also it’s a GM product so you know it’s gonna be shit.

FAN anderson with a full sponsored team of mechanics to keep the pieces of shit running. Also that was a long time ago. Since then land rovers have gotten even more shitty every year and Toyota fourrunner keeps getting better. A TRD Pro fourrunner would run circles around those old landrovers.

Also, the event was sponsored by Land Rover and was used for publicity. All the trucks where donated and heavily modified. They where even all the same color.

“The vehicles were heavily modified by Land Rover Special Vehicles with a range of expedition, recovery, and safety equipment, including:

      Safety Devices roll cages
Under body protection and steering guards
      Modified electrical systems
      Winches
Dixon Bate tow hitches and recovery points
      Mantec snorkels
      Transmission breathers
Michelin XCL or BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres
      Upgraded suspension and transmission components
      Auxiliary fuel tanks
      Webasto fuel burning heaters
Brownchurch / Safety Devices roof racks
Hella driving, spot, fog, convoy and work lamps
Brownchurch Bull bars and bush wires
      Flag poles
Event plaques, decals and sponsor logos (including Camel Trophy Adventure Wear/Bags/Boots/Watches, Lee Cougan, Perception, Sony, Scott USA, Safety Devices, Land Rover, Fjällräven, Warn, Malaysia Airlines, Superwinch, Royal Dutch Shell, Shell, Avon)
Expedition tools, Jerry cans, Pelican cases, Zarges boxes, high lift or New Concept air jacks, sand ladders, axes, ropes, drawbars, spades.
Garmin, Terratrip and other navigation and communication equipment

“Generally speaking, except for support and specialist vehicles, the Land Rovers were only used for one event.”

Interesting thing, one of the Disco's biggest gremlins is the three amigos, caused by shuttle valve failures in the ABS modulator. The latter is manufactured by Wabco and it is the same unit you'll find in a Hummer. I had 2 disco 2's both td5's and they were the best vehicles I ever had.
