Euro NCAP is introducing a new test that will check how well vehicles autonomously detect and prevent collisions with pedestrians. With new vehicles offering more autonomous driver assist systems, Euro NCAP’s Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) Pedestrian tests will make it simpler for consumers and manufacturers to find out which systems work best.
Euro NCAP will test vehicles’ response to pedestrians in simulations of the three most common urban scenarios: adults walking and running into the vehicle’s path and a child stepping out from behind a parked car.

My uncle was a Doctor and he recently retired. Hours after seeing his last patient and closing his office for the final time, he was struck by a car near his home at Pittsburgh.
He died on last Wednesday from his injuries. He was 80. I hope one day this technology help us to prevent this type of tragedy. 🥀🖤

Dr Euro Ncap, however it is dangerous for other cars, isn't it? I mean when someone stop like this would cause the following car to crash on it. This would create a Traffic. Although I think the same cars have the program to prevent crashes in low kilometers per hours

Pedestrian is moving, in that case its easier for AI to find it. What about standing person, dressed different colors. Also what is discovered? Person or that heavy moving metal plate? What about night, will emergency jacket be discoveted? Which reflective patterns are best?Different thing, what about car jacking, looks like front assist made it child easy. Are there any systems which automatically deactivate front assist by GPS location?
