I sell Ram and I appreciate your video ......You did a nice job of showing the differences. Each has their merits to be sure and both are far better than a Chev.

@jay bird I have a 2015 f150 that sits outside no matter the conditions in Minnesota, a place notorious to rust and rot vehicles, and there is 0 problems. No rust or rot. No problem ever with the vehicle, and almost all the miles are on dirt road.

@Marco I don't understand why the center shifters are even a thing in trucks. They just take up space that could be used for other things. Much rather have Chevy's column shifter or Ram's dial.

Fast forward a whooping 3 months and you find the selling price of the RAM is easily $5,000 cheaper AND the tech is far better and newer than the aging Ford.

I’m team F150 for sure but there are a few things that are pathetic for this being 2019

      1) push button start should absolutely be standard
      2) auto 4x4 should be standard. The lariat has it but come on that’s a great safety feature for bath weather OR stomping on it from a stop vs engaging the 4x4 and then having to switch it once you’re up to speed or changing lanes
      3) it costs like $14 to ford to dampen the tailgate come the F on Ford. The tailgate step option is great though and I prefer it vs any other brand
      4) Auto dual climate control costs roughly $140 for ford to install it. Standardize it!
      5) vinyl floors. ANYONE that actually works out of a truck appreciates the cleanup. At the very least any 302A should have the option to choose that, save a bit of money or charge the same. Floor liners help but there is always a ton of stuff that gets under them, under the seats and especially dog hair.

I looked at both trucks but my last 2 dodges literally blew there engines; one at 142k miles the other at 136k mile mark, They actually started falling apart around 60k miles (struts, control arms, electrical, transmission, ac completely replaced in both of them at 80k miles each) Ram looks great but they have quality issues, so I went back to Ford f150 which in my experience will at least have a lot fewer problems and cost much less to keep on the road (had a 1998 f150 with almost 400K miles on it before the engine finally quit, plus 2010 with over 200k miles with no issues other than maintenance)

Despite being a Ford salesperson, I have to say you were about as fair as anyone could be, but there was still bias. The comment about the "flex" in the front fender was very misleading. Obviously this was an attempt to sell people on the aluminum aspect of the F150. The movement at the front of the fender on the Ram is not due to the material it's made of, but due to the fact that the fender is not fully supported out to the very front near the headlight. Aluminum is considerably more brittle and does offer a more ridged surface, but being brittle also makes dent repairs more complicated and costly. In a way from an engineering perspective I'm not sure I'd talk about flex at all. All truck bodies flex. you can say that the new frames on the aluminum-bodied F-150 are stiffer, but there will always be flex. The reduced susceptibility to flexing with aluminum is also a detriment. Over time repetitive flexing will cause the metal at stress points to fatigue and crack. The difference in the load weight between the F-150 and Ram 1500 is not the rear suspension and the fact that Ram uses coil springs! The difference is available to the F-150 simply because the vehicle unladen weight is less. The claim that the ride difference between the two trucks is too close to judge is the unfortunate Ford salesperson mantra. Those leaf springs in the rear cause considerable more rear hop than the coils on the Ram. I've been in both, there is no comparison in ride quality. Even the new Silverado rides better than the F-150. Also, if you stop the Ram in Drive and open the driver's door, the E-brake is automatically applied.

The new Ram is pretty sexy, and nobody should put near that weight on a half ton truck I don't care what the manufacturer says it can tow.

Instead of turning a knob to back up your trailer, why don't you turn the steering wheel? That's what it's for.

Nobody is going to NOT put an extra bag of mulch in the bed because the sticker on the door says they can't. 😂 is he serious?
Who reads the sticker on the door? It's a truck. If it fits in the bed, then it gets put in the bed😁

The most reliable part of those trucks are the tires. You know they will have to go in for some kind of warranty work before they need a set of tires. Same probably goes for gm trucks. Most new trucks lately have had issues. The 2018 F-150 in particular had multiple problems.

Look at the gaps in the body panels of the Ram. Dodge body panels have never lined up together well. I could fit an entire F150 in that gap/hole between the grille and panel beneath the light.

This guy is a joke. Missing the $300 steps when the truck is over 1k cheaper, easy fix. Ram does have WIFI capability and doesn't need the rubber "security" buttons because it has the UConnect app. Good luck hiding your code when the numbers wear off the rubber and everyone can tell which keys to hit. I liked the fender test though. showed how steel flexes where the force is applied and i noticed the aluminum flexing near the headlight when his hand was near the top of the wheel arch. Easy choice, go with RAM.
