Here's a quick lowdown on the 5 best things about the 3rd generation, 2004-2008 Acura TL sedan. This car has been a great daily driver for me over the last 20 months, and it has the least amount of faults of any car i've driven. There are many great aspects about the car, but here are the 5 most noteworthy. Please leave any questions or comments related to the video in the section below. I hope you enjoy the video!

Engine is an oil hog, I owned one with 60k and added 120k miles and babied it with Mobil oil changes and the engine was on its way out when I got rid off it. I still loved it

      Got a 2004 with 118k Technology package/
Slips on third and thats really the only issue with the vehicle. Was told it was the Solenoids, has any one encountered this problem?

I love the j32, I wish they made more tl and cl in a manual trans, especially since the 5 speed auto they paired with it is such trash. I couldn't agree with you more about the styling and fitting. I'd love to build a VIP style one

@Terell Bertrand Definitely worth it. If it can be certified and safety WITH that price, that is a no brainer. If you check it out again, shake the trunk if you hear any rattles. Also check the side mirrors because tinted side mirrors tend to form a brown spot on the mirror. Take it for a test drive and step on it to hear the transmission shifting gears.. If all that is good. I'd say go for it. Wish I got that price lol.

Som Lim currently looking at one with 160km for $4,700. No rust, it’s proofed, new control arms and brakes. Drove very smooth besides the winter tires. Owner is very stubborn with price, do you think it’s worth it?

I have this exact color but mines an 05 but mine has the same wheels and nav. I'm currently at 213k miles and I got it with 207k. I don't have any maintenance records. My transmission is going out I think. The d flashes on the dash and acts sluggish sometimes. I did a 2 quart drain and fill already but it's only been 3k miles. Should I do another drain and fill again? Is it too soon or it can't hurt it? I know originally the fluid that came out was dark brown so I know the drain and fill must have helped. But I don't wanna do too much too soon

Its recommended in the maintenance to be done and its needed when the values get louder. The engine should be QUIET not loud or clunky

'rides absorbant, it's really quiet' - can't agree. It's just the opposite. Acura is stiff and the noise intruding the car inside is horrible. Drove a couple of them already.

The reliability rating shot up in 2008 so get the latest one you can. that’s how all cars go. never get the first year on a new design

yes.just had a new one put in 5 days ago.The original had 112k on it.I also own an 2001 and the tranny went around 50k,i put a new one in and still have it 9 years later.I just bought a 2009 with 32k on it and pick it up Saturday.I cant wait.I think the transmission problem was solved around 2007.Buy a cheap one that needs a transmission pay 2k to get it put in and your set for a long time.

Great car for engine reliability. The interior starts to fall apart at higher miles tho. Cracked dash, ripped leather seats, broken cup holder, sagging headliner, radio dies, HFL kills the battery etc.

If you want to fix the shifting problem change the transmission fluid 3 x's. Driving around 50 miles between changes. Use only Honda transmission fluid. I have an Acura technician moonlight work on my car 196,000 mile 2005 tl recommended I did it an did it for me. Afterwards smooth as silk.
