Doing a fuel consumption test in a BMW 320d Sport Line (MY 2013 / F30). Aim of this test is not to give an exact specification of the fuel consumption of this car, but to show an approximation of the fuel consumption under real life circumstances.

As the result also depends on tyres, size of the rims, road condition, weather and equipment that may alter the exact weight of the car, your personal experience may differ from mine.

Can you tell me what is a fuel range? And is that consumption punctual? Because on e46 realistic consumption is almost double than it is on board computer and needle as well. But on e90 the realistic consumption is exactly like on the board! With full tank 61l on e90 320d I can drive about 950km combined. Whats the result with f30 57l tank? How many kilometers can you pass with full tank? Because I dont believe in such a low consumption.

I just bought one 320d xDrive M Sport Touring last week. I love the car. I'm planning a longer trip in Europe(From UK to Hungary). Can you advise what fuel consumption should I count as an estimate? Am I going to get at least 1000km out of one tank?

      MrWestcliffe In reply to MrWestcliffe

+guitigefilmpjes Thanks a lot, I was estimating around 7L/100km. But if it's going to be less then 7 I'll be more than happy :) By the way I've only got a 57liter tank(by the handbook).

      guitigefilmpjes In reply to MrWestcliffe

When making a conservative estimate, I would guess about 6,5l / 100km would be your consumption, but the xDrive might make it a bit higher.

If I consider that you have a 63 liter tank you will get about 969 kilometers out of one tank.

Not on video, but usually I drive in EcoPro-mode. The difference is not that huge, about 0,3l / 100km.

Niepotrzebne s─ů te dane dla US. Kiedy tankowa┼éem tam auto, mia┼éem wra┼╝enie jakbym cofn─ů┼é si─Ö w czasie do pocz─ůtku lat `90, a mo┼╝e i jeszcze wcze┼Ťniej.

You said that our (US) 328d is the same as this 320d but with an extra turbo. Not true, it is the same exact engine, same amount of turbos (1), same power (181 bhp). It is not the same as your 325d, as that has more power (215 bhp, 332 lb-ft [450 Nm]). I wish we had the more powerful diesels available here in the US.

and some how corrupted your car Industry , Your 328d has a catastrophic range of only 600 miles which equals to our 335d with 313hp , our 320d gets 1000 miles with 160hp , For more information please feel free to watch the video below

Well, in the US diesels have been banned many years ago, but nowadays you can buy then again.

In the US BMW offers a 328d (diesel, which is the same as the 325d in Europe), which has the same engine as the 320d in this video but with an extra turbocharger and more HP.

      guitigefilmpjes In reply to A

That's an amazing fuel consumption for an almost 200 hp engine and a quite heavy car, in town it's about what you would expect but on secondary roads and highway that's astonishing.

I was also very (pleasantly) suprised, after driving it for 1000km on the highway (between 100 and 130km/h, during rush hour) it averaged 5,03l / 100km!
