I have a 16 xlt super crew, it's perfect truck has everything I need. Flat floor, keypad, center counsel are 3 biggest things I love. I came from a 2010 super crew in exact same trim. After year 3 was when I started to notice the issues with salt on body. This winter is year 3 on my 16 so really interested in how body holds up to salt. Obviously the 16 is aluminum compared to steel. I live as far north in Wisconsin as you can go and you can't get out of salt up here.

Great vid. My last F150 had a moonroof, and it leaked, the drain tube also disconnected as it aged because the rubber shrinks over time, then the drainage rusted at the bottom rear of the truck cab. No more Ford sunroof for me.

The dealership in my neck of the woods has some great deals on various packages for this holiday weekend so picked up an XLT yesterday with the 302a, Sport package , Power Equipment group, 36 gallon fuel tank, Sync 3, Voice Navigation, Ecoboost V6 and FX4 in White yesterday for a very good price. I highly recommend people check out their local dealerships this weekend. On a side note Holy Crap is that V6 Ecoboost fast.

My 2 cents if you're in the market for a 1/2 ton 4by, and not a blind follower of blue oval or bowtie (sorry Ram, although some nice features, I just could not live with myself driving a fiat, lol).

My last two trucks were brand new 4x4, 2001 4.6L Supercrew xlt, and used 4x4 2001 5.3L LS Silverado extracab. Fast forward to now. Was leaning hard on the Sierra SLT or Silverado 4x4 crewcabs, drove a couple, nice, but...not that nice, and ride quality was less than I expected.

Went and drove the Fords and ...very nice truck. Drove home a 2017 5L Supercrew xlt fx4 short bed nicely equipped 302a group + some extras I did not plan on seeking out, but the deal was right. Its huge inside compared to the GM/Chev crew cabs. So far loving everything about the truck and feel great about the purchase.

Thanks for all the informative vids.

I want the XLT truck! But "I" want the 2018 model! That way "I" get the V-8 W/10 speed trans! Make it a supercab, 4X4 6.5 ft bed and 3.55 gears. I also want that new "guard" color (kinda greenish) and I'm gonna be fine with that...

Yes. I think as long as it doesn't have the Sport package, it will have the 6 passenger option. The Sport package comes with the center shifter for sure.

You have to pay your sales tax in the state the vehicle will be registered in, other than that it's really no different.

I've always been a Ford guy, and love my 2012 f150 xlt but the prices they charge for these trucks now is insane especially with the Fords. Sad to say but this is probably the last ford truck I'll own.

Colt Harris In reply to Timothy Findley

Timothy Findley go check out Dodge, Chevy and especially Toyota. You'll find that they're all equally overpriced. I think you'll actually find that AFTER dealer and Ford Motor incentives, that the F-150 actually gives you more than the others and more choices for a slightly lower price. It's still expensive. Yes. But they're all overpriced. At least Ford overpriced and then offsets it with tons of different discounts.

Mitchell maybe you can help me out on this. Does Ford offer the 4A option on the XLT trim, with the 302a package?

Town and Country TV that's what I was thinking. Autotrader has a video "New vs classic F150", and they show an interior photo of the 2017 XLT which I swear has 4A on the 4x4 dial. When I made the comment a fellow youtuber stated that with the 302a package you have the option. Thank you for the quick response and the correct info.

He spent a lot of time describing the remote access feature when he could have easily called it ford's version of On-Star. Which I should add has been around forever.

My 2016 F150 5.0 Supercrew FX4 XLT Sport is a dream to drive. She's got over 20K on her since I got her on September 17th of 2016. Fully loaded 302A. 47K Out the door. I couldn't ask for a better truck! But wow... 57K for an XLT? That's WAY too much. That's high end Lariat price... And about push to start... Yeah I'd rather not. I hate smart key access and push button start. It's unnecessary and just another thing to worry about breaking and more to pay for. I prefer column shifters on a truck but I actually love the center console shifter on mine! Leather wrapped and stitched. But I despise those turn dial shifters, they're absolutely horrid. Ford has always made the best damn trucks and always will! That's why they're best selling. Oh, and GM sales are down the drain so I've heard.

My 3 things I wish all XLT's had (based on my experience in my 300A):

      1. Boxlink on ALL XLT EQUIPMENT GROUPS. why is this not a thing? Seems common sense to me. The brochure for my 2015 was confusing as it said that Boxlink was standard on XLT (but with fine print that said 301A and higher). Of course I got into an argument with my dealership with the Ford social media team flip-flopping back and forth on it.
      2. Box lighting on all trim levels, Why is this not a thing? Why does Ford offer the Soundoff Signal warning flasher kit as a official upgrade for the 2015/2016, but NOT the bed lighting package?
      3. 4A transfer case on 4x4 models. Why have a lower end transfer case in the first place?
