I took a new Subaru Outback for a spin in the woods and I left with an impressive take on a car that has been around for a long time. Hope you enjoy!

Just traded a gorgeous F150 FX4 pickup for a new Subaru Outback (2019 3.6R Limited). Fantastic vehicle. One of the most enjoyable I have ever driven. Quiet, quick, and really terrific here in the snowy northern plains of US. So far I love this car (and I have owned nearly 30 cars/pickups over the years)

Glad to hear it, I am sure that was quite a switch though from a big truck to that. Hope it's a great car for you.

How about head gasket failure and oil consuption? Can you make a video about this. I would like to have this car but still scarred.

That was faulty head gaskets on Indiana made models. This problem was resolved some years back. As for the CVT in the Subaru, I'm not dead keen on it either as I can't pull more than 750kg unbraked.
However, the fuel economy is stunning, and the CVT is mainly responsible for this. So I'm warming to it.

This is a great car. Would have been even more amazing w more power and manual. In V6 CVT provides very smooth acceleration at higher speeds.

Yeah I’m not crazy about CVTs and more power always helps too.

Oh boy we just got started I can see the comments already lol the rumble doesn’t come from the boxer. It’s the unequal headers.

The interior looks like a 1980's Akai boombox. But it doesn't matter, as you will spend most of your time standing outside on your fone asking why the tow truck hasn't arrived yet.

Poor Elwood, you couldn't keep the Caddy and ended up with a Dodge. Times have moved on!

I got a 16, 3.6 since brand new and little over 35,000 now. Love it. Easy to change the oil, great all wheel drive. The best vehicle in the snow I’ve had. Out of 5 vehicles I’ve had, my favorite.

outback as a separate brand has not been around since the 1990's it was originally a trim level of the legacy (up to 2008) and the Impreza (up to 2011 as Outback Sport) and was offered as it's own model in 2009 state side

No! #Subaru's are the most overrated especially with all the #HG, Oil Consumption & other. Buyer Beware.

We have a 2012 Outback and a 2015 Legacy and never had an oil consumption issue. I have never aded even one ounce of oil between regular oil changes.

The rumble doesn't come from the engine layout, it comes from unequal length headers, which the Outback doesn't have.
