Guys, the Taco was slightly backwards from the rock and has a longer wheelbase than the Ranger. Watch at 8:13 & 8:17 minute mark.

The Ranger had all season tires on it, not true off-road worthy tires. Big difference there.

Wtf ....who gives a shit about how fast a truck is? It's about durability, dependability, function & reliability. TOYOTA has all that covered through the test of time.

Toyota has better articulation, but, the open C channel frame is the same frame that Toyota had to recall and replace in previous years. Fully boxed frame is better.

I wish you guys would have tried to open the tale gates on both trucks while testing articulation I have found that to be very different in my trucks and would love to see it added

The Taco. Ford is getting too pricey and the Tacoma has way better resale value.

I will buy the Taco when they upgrade the engine in a year or two. The Ranger is nice but the 4 turbo is gonna have issues. Look at the RS, Ford is notorious for selling cars with known problems...same engine. I am intrigued by the Hennessy Performance reflash of the engine(+ a few upgrades), makes the 4 banger faster than a stock Raptor. Anxious to see the redesign for both of these trucks in the near future. Really interested in the upcoming Bronco as well. Good job fellas

The frame flex is very true for Toyota. This is what made their older trucks legends off road. Frame flex goes a long way when adding traction.

I've been looking between a zr2 or the ranger lariat fx4. Honestly these trucks will be used a good 80-90% on the street, with the occasional weekend fun (reality of working fulltime and overtime). The ranger has way more tech, and still does well off road... The Tacoma is aging, and there's a reason ford has the best truck sales in the country. I plan to go with the ranger.

Well said. My reasoning as well an couldn't be happier w/my new truck! '19 Ranger XLT FX4 crew cab black on black. Amazing truck! Ford has always been the dominant truck maker decade after decade.

Ford did nice job with the new ranger but I have had 2 Tacomas now an 18
4runner a little More comfortable than the Tacoma. But bottom line Toyota's
Reliability is the best over the big three.

I mean there’s some ups and downs
Toyota is better on the terrain
Ford is safer than the Toyota
Ford is too American to drive
Toyota ain’t too American to drive
The prices are not really that good
And if you buy a Toyota you can sell it the same amount as you bought it
Ford is kinda expensive but if ya wanna sell it
      It’s even less cash
      But I wouldn’t sell a ford neither a Toyota

Crash testing hasn't been done on the Ranger, but the Tacoma has received very good crash ratings.

I’ve alway stuck with Ford. Its a loyalty thing I suppose. My grief or beef is when you guys blew the whistle on the mpg on FORD. Makes one feel a bit betrayed as a family member. Now if Ford would offer an apology incentive, let’s say $1,000.00 off, that would be a bonus to the buyer. Small price to pay to keep the family together wouldn’t you say.
