I drive sometimes around 1000 miles a week in the UK (1600K) and guess which car sits broken down at the side of the road most often? Yes all derivatives of the Range rover, mainly suspension issues. I can show you dash cam footage if you want. I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole I like reliable cars. Off road you're much better with something Japanese which is quite sad considering the state of the British car industry...

Discovery is the winner due to the space and it gives 7 seats option which no one gives in the competition

X3 is great. Nice driving on thick sand due to x-drive system. Also nice ground clearance,

I Love how BMW people talk about how great the X3 is. The design is old, too square, too dated. BMW make great road cars but Land arover make great off roaders. No one comes close. quattro always beats x drive. If you want an SUV for the road take the Germans (I'd have the Audi for better interior and quattro) BUT if you want a proper 4WD with off-road pedigree and Superb luxury, Landrover will always win.

You need to update this, there is now a new engine (Ingenium) in the discovery sport, and two recent tests in "what car" and "Autocar" magazines rates in better all round than the BMW X3 and Merc GLC. And they were right! I've bought the Discovery sport HSE Lux and it's an awesome car.

The two extra seat are VERY small and only suitable for small children - most owners don't spec them. With the 3rd row up, there is virtually no luggage space whatsoever.

Optional 3rd road seats.... Normally it's a 5 seats discovery.

Why is the name of the big man upstairs would you want an SUV that doesn't handle bad quality roads? And then call it the best SUV out of the three being compared. Nr 1 on my list for an SUV is that it should feel smooth and comfy on bad roads. Jeeeezuz, BMW misses the plot. And their braindead lemming followers should stop pursuing careers as car journalist.

+Robert LeBlanc i am planning to buy LR Disco but here the price for LR Sisco within the same range of Lexus RX350, i choose the RX350 because the value of money and reabibity issue with LR although the dealer cover 5 years free oil, servise cost and part maintenances exclude tire and battery.

      LOL... No.
The LR Disco is terrible. There's virtually nothing decent about it, especially at that price.
The X3 is so old that it's getting replaced later this year. Same goes for the Q5.
The Evoque drives well, but it's so small and overpriced that it's very impractical.
Hence, thus far, the GLC is the clear winner.
The soon to be released Jaguar might be a contender, but then there's that reliability issue, which is nearly as bad as LR.

why do a review of 4wd's without considering their off road capability ? I don't understand, if you are going to compare road going only, stick to the sedans.

Because if the had to go off road the BMW would be exposed and that wouldn't suite the lemmings that buy them.
