I love Sports Cars and would be proud to own and drive all of these cars. All of these cars look like a blast to drive. I would love to own a Porsche 914, the Fiero or the MG Midget.

I drove a 73 914 1.8L for three years (no winters). Great car, but the six was better. Cost of maintaining it were outrageous. It was VW until you had to buy parts...then it became a Porsche!

      Slow doesn't mean "no fun".
I enjoyed my Fiat X1/9 more than any of my Nissan Z's running through the twisties.

The DeLorean was made with a stainless steel body, not fiberglass. Very few auto body shops were able to deal with that. My own favorite, for what it's worth, is the SP-2! To have a car that's as simple and reliable as a VW 411, but looks that good, is a great combination. There WAS an SP-1 with an even smaller engine. they decided to NOT market that version.

Here in Brazil, the SP2 is very expensive, almost $14.000,00 (or 42.000,00BRL) because is a iconic car and so much rare here. But doesn't matter if are a slow car, nothing can be compared with that boxer engine sound and this iconic design!

Guys who drive civics with a stock engine and a fart can, don't feel so bad. The honda hate obviously misses over a "sports" car with even less horsepower.

Trouble with newer sporty cars is that if you thrash them, youll be going way too fast for comfort. With these older cars, you could drive them on their limits, which was great fun.

Another one was the first-generation (1978-1985) RX-7 with the 12A rotary. Peak horsepower of 101 horsepower at 6,000 RPM, with a redline of 7,000.

Definitely not impressive nowadays, but back in the post-1974 emissions years, with just 1.1 naturally-aspirated liters of displacement; the thing was super impressive.

Well sporty cars were the Honda S600 and 800. They may be slow but that is not the "magic" behind those cars. They revv and sound nearly like no other sports car.
The other ones from Mazda and Suzuku are K-cars. Sporty ones.
