Sport bikes are designed to be...for sport; for just going fast and cornering. It's not really meant to do slow maneuvering stuff, however any bike can do them. I'm a sports bike person, but when I take the test, I would use something like a Honda Rebel. It helps if the person takes the MSF course and might even take private lessons so one can learn to not put the foot down and counterbalance when taking slow turns.

Props for posting this bro, we only learn by failing, not by succeeding. I’m sure you’ve passed this already, keep it safe on the road

Why are the cones staggered? Other videos I’ve watched show them in a straight line. Even msf videos have them in a straight line. Those were WAY off set from each other then she asked you to go around the widest part. Doesn’t make sense

Yeah watched it again and you can ride straight down the center of the cones without running over one of them. That was set up for failure on any bike

I couldn't imagine doing a test like this on a bike with that low of a steering radius. Hell, this would be easier on a 700lb cruiser than a sports bike.

Yep. Took mine on a freinds cb400. Never ever try it on a sport bike. They don't turn enough to pass the cone test. My Yamaha 650 turbo would have never been able to pass that test. If you can do this on a full size bike, you are a master.

A stunt rider should go in there like he's never riden a bike before. Then start doing wheelies and brake stands and burnouts! LMFAO!

Thanks for posting this, I was about to make the mistake and try to do this on my own with a big bike. Now I'm just going to invest in the Basic Rider course so I can use their bike and get the waiver for DMV.

The fact that they said you need a smaller bike to complete it is pretty much signaling the issue with the testing right there.

Thanks for the video man. It's always good to know what not to do as well as what to do. All equally as important. I'm gonna be doing my test on a 2019 Harley Davidson Iron 883, the test on NC is a little more simple than these from what I've seen. Even went as far as going to buy my own cones to duplicate the obstacle course they have. Hoping I can do it first shot, I get nervous when being watched/tested, and that's when I make mistakes.

I don’t get these tests either. My first bike was an 1100 goldwing and there is that circle thing here in California. I went after hours to practice. I had like 5,000 miles on my permit so I thought I was ready, it wasn’t super easy to keep the front tire in. So rather than risk it I did the motorcycle class to be able to bypass that thing.
