What exactly makes up the electrolyte again? You were a little bit vague there.
With this amount of vagueness you will not improve anything in your life..

@Real Engineering Musk should open more repair shops around the New Hampshire and Vermont area. I see myself owning one of these cars one day, however I'm not sure fully due to mechanics in the area that do repairs.

We've just gone through a rather brisk week that varied between -15c to -45c here and quite a bit colder not too much farther north. I wonder how well the battery in one of those cars would have held up as it would have to run the cabin heater as well as the headlights that are needed anytime between 3:30pm and 8:00am in addition to moving the car.

Not only will the battery's life need to last at least 10 years, it also needs to be much lighter in weight. Also, the car itself needs to somehow become much lighter than what it is. Weight reduction is the key for the electric vehicle industry.

At 4:07 area, the cathode is LiNiCoAlO2, it was mistakenly typed as Ai -- should be Al for aluminum. Just wanted to point that out. Great video, keep it up!

Interesting to watch this now. So now Tesla is claiming to have tracked down both the source of dendrite formation to the electrolyte chemistry itself, and to be working towards a low cost additive that corrects for dentrite formation without a complete change in chemistry or in existing production lines. Amazing stuff.

Why put acceleration to a high speed in seconds as such an important part of driving. Accelerating slowing and more carefully is generally a much safer approach to driving.

Brilliant alright many others noticed that the narrator says the exact OPPOSITE of the illustration at 3:50 about battery cathodes and anodes? While you are at it, did you also notice at 15:08, that he switches reference from electric to 'electronic vehicles' a bit of a misnomer also. Otherwise, a cheerful and hopeful well made video.

You always get this "Prices are coming down bullshit". The price can only come down if they use "cheap" materials. You get what you pay for! Just look at Solar Panels...most are garbage.

    • Miguel lopez

unless you improve the manufacturing method which makes more efficient use of materials and lowers operating cost while increasing scale, tesla cells are mid grade high drain cell batteries, but they are cheaper then many other batteries on the market, they arent the absolute cheapest but cost continues to go down as manufacturing improves, if you want to question it just look at dry cell VS wet cell manufacturing.
