1990s was the absolute best decade for cars. Like legendary. If i owned that 1998 Type R i would do a small turbo with low boost. Around 250whp

      Young cats don't understand.
Real Racing cars do not need all that crap. Even tho you need navigation just install a double din with navigation or learn how to use Google maps on your phone sync with your single din radio.
I'll be happy with a ej2 with a itr swap.

I gotta admit, the HP meter and vtec gauge is cool and all, but that type R man, its soo nice compared to that bloated Si. A true driver's car ๐Ÿš˜

Iโ€™m surprised the civic si came so close. Throw the optional summer tires on there and Iโ€™d say the civic takes the win in the timed lap . Iโ€™d still take the Integra though.

Amazing that the Civic essentially has an Accord engine but in a comparably smaller body. This totally misses out on the characteristic of the old civic which was meant to be light, fun, zippy and economical.

This totally removes the compact and fun aspect to more trying to compete with luxury in refinement and cabin toys rather than the simplicity (both maintenance and toys), economy and focus on driving enjoyment (less focus on aesthetics and fashion orientation).

Rather have the ITR with the K24. Don't feel the need to rev it to 8 grand to make power, 5 grand is plenty and it'd have enough torque you don't need to downshift for hills or passing.

i saw the title and ignored the si. these are uncomparable, the type r is damn near race car and the si is a mild grocery getter

Take this from a current 2013 Civic Si owner. The car is great as a daily and with just tires, is quite fast on track. I've been to 2 track days and have had guys that had an M2, M6, newer Mustang GT with 400HP, and even an RS3 come up to me with amazement with how fast I was taking corners. Some even had problems keeping up with me on track.

What am I getting at? The comparison between this car and the Integra Type-R are just what they say, apples to oranges. But tire choice is also a huge factor in a car's handling. Running just 1 sec slower than the ITR on all seasons is actually not bad at all. With summer tires, they truly show what the car is capable of and with some serious extreme summer tires, they're a completely different car that can hang with much higher priced and higher HP cars. Currently have RE71Rs on my car and daily on some cheapo all seasons to get to and from track.

Type r is obviously a classic (if not the classic) POST FatF days......lets keep that in mind. Actually, the last year they made it was when the original fast n the furious came out. The new civic would look fine if u take the ugly fuckin rims off! The 99-00 civic si is personally my fav.
