The Honda NSX shook up the established order when it was released and comprehensively beat the Ferrari 348. Did the much improved 355 restore Ferrari's honour?

Such a great test drive video !! It seems that both are really great cars...
But I would like to point out a wining-factor on the HONDA's side - its reliability! - even in 10 more years, everything in it will work...

Love both cars but those 355s are junk. used to work on a few at the garage I worked at growing up. they’re way over engineered compared to the nsx and the nsx is just as capable

Honda just knows how to make the best cars ever and let the others follow suit...... It is just incredible how Honda Beat Ferrari on its own game. The NSX is a Legend not only being a better driver's car but being reliable and day to day easy to live. Just impressive World class Engineering. Take that Ferrari.

I doubt that Shift Gears has driven either. There a few Ferraris that I haven't driven including 812 and 488 on Fiorano Test Track. I own a 430 manual and Testarossa and have driven most models, not all. Then again I have a 2002 Honda NSX. It is an amazing machine, conceived many years earlier and before 355. No, the compare is not dumb. It's perfectly sound and a well balanced opinion is offered here. The NSX delivers fabulous driver involvement and magnificent engineering, build quality that Ferrari can't match, not then anyway and reliability. The whole packaging of NSX is an unbelievable feat of engineering. I may buy a 355 to enable me to offer another back to back opinion as I can't recall when and indeed if I have ever driven one! There you go. That's why the above video is entirely valid. One final point. There are nightmare references around that talk about the 355 Achilles heel; that's engine reliability and failures with valves etc. I've never seen the same for NSX.

Whoever says there is slack in the NSX steering has never driven one. In fact, it could well be the defining characteristic of the whole car: no slack anywhere.

I would take the NSX, they are rare, well made and historically significant. The 355 is just one of very many kitcar-ishly made old ferraris. Now compared to a newer ferrari like a 360 or 430 and the choice is obviously a Ferrari...

Great video Number27. Really enjoyed a lot! Keep on the good job! What cameras you use on your edition? Still waiting for a test on a Supra MKIV twin turbo or a Esprit S4s. I think you made a mistake on selling your Esprit turbo...but anyway it's just my opinion...dont get me wrong! 💪👍

For all of the Ferrari dick riders in this thread, I ask you: Do you know how and why Lamborghini was started? Soichiro Honda was just as amazing as Ferruccio Lamborghini. Enzo Ferrari was a fucking asshole that made cheap shit and called it great. I love Ferraris, but get your history straight and learn a little something about automotive engineering before you say shit like "everyone in the world wants a Ferrari" and "Honda is garbage". Look at Honda's history, including their racing accomplishments. Ferrari ONLY makes super cars. Honda made ONE!......and 30 years later, it's still the topic of conversation ( as is seen here). Sorry for the rant, but I can't stand ignorant people who are too arrogant to realize their own ignorance. A great car is a great car - no matter what badge is on it.

The NSX was really ahead of its time, the reliability alone made it the winner. My brother has an NSX, he does his own oil, clutch, pretty much all of the maintenance. The NSX is a super car the average JOE can wrench 🔧 on.

I've driven both - a lot. I love them both - a lot, but the NSX was made in 1989 and it's STILL in high demand, it can still contend with modern cars (in every way), it's incredibly comfortable. Everyone's lining up to get the newest Ferrari's, while people are STILL lining up to get a Honda that was built in 1989......And for Mr. "911 FLAT SIX". You must not know that first and foremost, Honda is an Engineering company. They must've done something right if a 30 year old car is still being clamored for. BTW: I've driven your car (all of the 911 models) many times as well and your comment lets me know that you either don't own one, or can't drive it proper..PS. What do you think of Volkswagen? Because that's who owns Porsche. Just like my Audis. Brand names mean nothing.. I feel bad for you.

Tom M  I'm not sure if you have trouble reading, or if you're responding to the wrong post, but I never said anything negative about the 355. I love the 355, but yes, you're right. The NSX is more than a "one off"........AND THAT'S WHY IT'S SO GREAT, you fucking tard.

355's are easily worth more sorry. The NSX is a one off and thats why its sought after. Ferrari have made dozens of amazing cars in the interim. Thats the difference

No. I thought your review was spot on! I was making a general comment that was eventually directed at "911 FLAT SIX" (The comment that you pinned to the top of the comments). Clearly that person knows nothing about automotive engineering and I can't stand arrogant ignorance so I felt inclined to highlight his ignorance. Having experience with both cars, my review is almost identical to yours.....even that Burnt Orange color. It's my favorite also. Well done!

The nsx is my dream car. I allways wanted a Type R na1 or a Type S Zero. You came very close with the Type S. The 3.2 6 speed with Power steering (quicker ratio) is the way to go. They are collectors Cars now. Probably wont loose value.

IS the 3.2 the one without the flip up lights? I just don't like the look of that last car.. I know thats a bit silly but the flip up light cars looks so much better! Thanks for watching and for your comment!
