I wish BNSF would send some of those SD70ACe`s here to west coast. GE absolutely dominates power here which makes for boring railfanning. wonderful video.

The reason for that being kind of two answers in one. The first being GE offers financing whereas EMD doesn't. So BNSF has pushed more orders to GE rather then EMD because of that. Hence why new GE power seems to be all over the BNSF system. As for why you rarely see new BNSF GE's in the Northwest is because BNSF considers EMD's coal train power for the most part hence why you will see significantly more EMD power on BNSF's coal trains then other trains. So since the Northwest doesn't have coal to be mined or much demand for it to begin with your subsequently not going to see much new EMD power in the Northwest. After all the Northwest has been nicknamed 'gevo land' for a reason. If you want new EMD power in the Northwest UP and some CP traffic coming down across the border is about as good as it's going to get.

Thank you. I'm not sure what the preferred territory for the ACe's but I have gotten 1 or 2 of these come through the Ohio on oil trains
