The engine noise for the 2019 RAV4 is horrible. Strange you didn't mention it because there are so many complaints.

Pop the hood and listen. The engine noise is BAD. Be interesting to see how long the engine will last before it self destroys.

You are not suppose to make a selection while you’re driving. So your comment about the driving selections is very stupid.

Was considering the remodeled rav4 adventure(canadian for trail) model until joining the 2019 rav4 facebook group and reading a lot of owner's having buyer's remorse because the new 8 speed transmission is causing major shifting and jolting problems. Toyota is already working on a new software to change shifting patterns. For me, I'm not willing to buy a vehicle knowing this is an issue and software updates are already being done. I'm also wanting to buy now, so I'm not willing to wait for the 2020 model. I will be going with the 2019 Mazda CX-5.

Who all has the 2019 Rav4 and has issues with it jolting so hard when its switching gears? I have had mine for two weeks and it already is having issues with gear shifting and now jolting so hard it flings my head and neck forward! I have bulging discs in my neck and I cant be in a car that does this daily. It's currently in the shop now. They said they cant find anything wrong with it even though I have witnesses who have experienced this issue. One being the salesman who drove it on Saturday and witnessed first hand the severe head jerk. This car is brand spanking new! I have read many consumer reports and there are tons of people complaining about this same issue. Again....I have severe neck issues and this is not safe for my neck. I want to know if Toyota plans to address this issue or if they will force me to drive this until my disk is herniated and I'm out of work and on the operating table? And then still driving it after surgery jolting my neck?

I'm 13 DAYS IN! I WANT A SAFER VEHICLE! I WANT A TRADE IF THIS IS THE "NORMAL". ILL BE DAMNED IF I JUST FINANCED $32,000 FOR A CAR THAT WILL CAUSE ME MORE HEALTH PROBLEMS AND CAUSE ME TO LOSE MONEY BECAUSE I CANT WORK OR SURGERIES.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY SITUATION TOYOTA! MAKE THIS RIGHT.

That's a critical design error. Other cars get to toggle the front screen or headup displa from the steering wheel. The cheap RAV4 places the cheapest plastic switches down near the splashing soda drinks !!!!

Do not buy this if you want to tow anything since the accessories are not available and will not be for months. It seems Toyota forgot to plan this part. I got mine in January and we are now in April and I am still waiting for the wiring but being told that it will not be available for a while. Totally unacceptable !!

I recently bought 2019 RAV-4 XLE Hybrid. After I bought the car, I noticed the car makes sort of loud high pitch noise when I put the gear in reverse. When I told the dealer about it, they told me it's normal and all the hybrid cars make that noise. Did you notice any noises in the reverse gear when you did the test drive? Thank you,

I test drive hybrid, salesman told me its hybrid , car doesn’t make enough noise to alarm reverse so they add alarming sound. Maybe it’s not right ?

Is it for warning blind people at the back? Just curious. As in Toyota jeff road test i heard that noise too. Do you recommend hybrid le or xle regular? As in Canada price are same for both.

“Built a car for people who buy vehicles.” “Adequate power”. Nice ways of saying it’s ok, but not the same as saying good or excellent. Driving it reminded me of a first gen Prius. The motor develops peak power at 5000 rpm, and it almost feels binary; it’s either on or off, and its strangely loud and unpleasant sounding by 2019 standards. The cvt only accentuates this. The electronic power steering has little feedback and is light. Interior is nice, but nav only comes in the top limited trim, which seems odd at the price point. It’s not horrible, but it’s like driving an econo appliance and everyone gives it a pass because it’s Toyota. I think people would be way more critical if they drove it without knowing who made it. BTW, Honda called, and they want their civic type R design team back.
