Whenever you have a no start condition when attempting to start your vehicle it's important to make the distinction between "no crank, no start" and "crank, no start" situations as they are treated differently. This video covers what I do when confronted with a 'no crank, no start' situation and in this case it's a worst case scenario so be sure to watch till the end.

My dad had a Doge car and the engine locked up and he had me to take the spark plugs out and put miracle oil into each cylinder and we let it set for a week and then with a large pipe wrench was able to free it up again, and it ran until he sold it a couple of years later.

Had this on my car. After taking the starter out and checking out all there is to check by eliminating one by one test after test it turned out to be the c terminal on the solenoid to the starter motor was dirty and needed cleaning. Thats it, nothing else, worked perfectly after that. Didnt buy anything or replace anything. Just cleaned the solenoid connections.

Mind you, my engine wasnt seized and its full of oil. How can someone not know to have the oil checked, ever? Thats just stupid.

I had a toyota van that locked up. Took everything apart step by step to find after dozens of steps that when i took the transmission off the engine, a bell housing bolt to the trans fell out. It had jammed between the torque converter and the bell is why nothing turned. $5 fix on my own labor. Imagine paying someone to find that? Would have cost more than the van.

Actually there is a VERY cheap camera with a light that you can get from WISH.COM (I have a few) that is a mini snake light camera. It connects directly to your cell phone and you can even take pictures. This is how I find where bolts went when they fell or even where that darned hole is to get it back in.

How bout an occasional intermittent no-crank, no-start on a 2008 Honda Civic. Any way to test it when it's currently behaving normally? I've had it in a shop who told me that until THEY see it when it's not cranking, they can't diagnose anything. True?

Naive question, is the car smart enough to not even at least crank the starter with a broken rod?

People need to really need an IQ section on their driving test. Why the hell do people do this. Especially a 2nd time.

I got a weird question. So I have a 93 Honda Civic ex 4 door with 193k miles on it. So basically I started my car at work and it stated just fine like usual. But I leave it lock it go back inside and work for like 10 minutes and leave. I get in and it's saying on the dash that abs, ebrake, battery lights and oil lights. I changed the oil 4 days ago too. But my main question is that the heater and all the light including headlights and brights, they don't work but my car is running. All dash gages are not moving especially rpm because I have a manual civic. If anybody might know something hmu because it's the first night it did this thing and I'm clueless.
