The 2019 Honda Passport is Honda's "rugged" new SUV. Today I'm reviewing the new 2019 Honda Passport so show you all the ins and outs of the Passport -- and I'm driving the Passport to give you my full opinion of the new Honda Passport SUV.

Today it is 60 degrees -- or, as the Passport would say, 55 degrees.

I worked in the engineering field for several year calibrating temperature sensitive equipment. Sensors fail, they get covered in mud, they are affected by engine temperature. I believe the setting is to help give you a correct reading when you notice there is a delta between the actual temp outside and what reading you are getting from your sensor. Once you calibrate it to match, it will for then give you the correct actual temp outside, the temp equipment I worked on needed the sensors calibrated twice every year, and believe me temp sensors vary a lot, this is actually a pretty neat feature on a car, surprised they even had it.

It's just in case the measurements are off. The option is also available in my 05 Acura TL

While it is not affected as much in cold weather, in hot weather, on-car temp. sensors tend to record higher temp than what the actual ambient outside temp is, usually by 4 or 5 degrees higher. This is true with most all car temp. sensors. Check it out next time your car is parked in a scorching parking lot.

Eh I dunno about this "review." A lot of the "quirks" are just you not knowing things. Those drive select buttons have been in multiple Hondas already for a while, and identical to Acura one as well. The temperature changing is obviously to calibrate the temperature, not all cars or thermometers say the exact same temp. The green light bar for efficient driving us also in the lowest trim of the civic (again, nothing new).......also that "astronaut" is asimo.....losing faith in ur content, do better...maybe check out straitpipes channel.

Honda is going to steal a lot of sales from its competitors, with the Passport. It's really impressive.

Hey Doug, That is not an astronaut, that is " honda asimo"

The outside temperature settings ., is a calibration for the outside temperature sensor ., for example if is 70 degrees out and the car reading 65 you have the Option to calibrate it 🤪

Just have to laugh at all of the pretty standard features Honda has been putting in their cars for 10-15 years, and Doug thinks they're odd "quirks" of the Passport.

If he mentioned that it has paddle shifters, I missed it. Almost makes up for the lack of a real gear shift lever.

Used to work at a Honda dealership, not sure exactly what they mean because it's been a while. The "a" on oil life is a type of service reminder they have a1, ab1, b1, and so on and so forth. The a usually refers to oil changes and b usually tire rotations so if you had an ab1 light you'd be due for and oil change and tire rotation

All Doug did was rant about little shit that he doesn’t like about the Passport. You can hear it in high pitch voice when he’s about to say something sarcastic....

The CRV used to be rugged. Remember that tire on the back Circa 2006 and older? The CRV is now a high tech urban beast, and we needed something else that replaced that old rugged CRV. So thats were it fits.
