Yes the electric Smart 451 is fun to drive and cheap, I bought a 2015 lease return with 30,000 miles for $8,000
Smart rates 0 to 60 at 11 seconds, they must not use full throttle, I get 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds

Used ones drop LIKE A STONE! I found one that was $26,000 new, now selling for $12,000 with under 4,000 miles only used for one year.

Why are they so cheap now? Is there a reason why prices dropped so heavily?

I'd like to lease one for a month. It's overpriced to buy, but for commuting at a max speed of 90km/h it would be much better than public transportation.

Performance-wise, the electric Smart Fortwo makes sense: you do not have to wait ages for the transmission to shift in the non-electric versions.

Absolutely enough for a stricte city car I'd say and it's still pretty fast up to 80 kph.

Good thing it doesn't lose much power for switching into an electric engine. What's the maximum range?

+C D Hanks Pardon. I meant electric motor. It's because the word "motor", in my language, is used for both types of machinery, the electric motor itself and an internal combustion engine, so I mistakenly thought the same applied to English.

Hmm...quite a good value for a city car; depending on the distance between home and work, one doesn't even need to charge very often, perhaps once a week or every 4-5 days. :)
