awesome video, good information delivered at a refreshingly quick accurate pace. I am considering this bike as an entry into the 600cc supersport class. between this and the triumph daytona 675, would you say this would be an easier transition?

Carlyle's Picks In reply to The_J_is_Silent

@The_J_is_Silent The power modes will help even though they are not the best. Power is only limited at higher RPMs. It will will pull hard before that...BUT...there IS traction control. Daytona is not an entry into anything.

There is no steering damper on this bike? How important and critical is that? Thank you

BrappWithMe motovlogs In reply to E.S. Slc

Pretty crucial if your going to do highspeeds ! ...steering dampers considerably correct speed wobble and tank slapping ...I have never got speed wobble on my cbr but I was on a gixxer and I got tons of it no steering damper

Anyone else ended up here just to watch and listen to praises on a bike you already own while waiting for spring to come?   Oh and M.Carlyle, heres a question: I unfortunalty crash/droped my bike at the end of last season...it was a clear day , early morning ..around 7-8 degree celcius(kinda cold) ...Was at a red light ...and was the first of the lane so i could clearly see there was no oil/water/goo/leafs or anything on the asphalte ahead...light turns green , i clutch 1 gear and start going slowly forward ....2 eye blink later i was barrel rolling on the ground  my bike sliding on its left side....have no idea what just happend...wich kinda sucks...cause when you crash by doing mistake...you actually know what went wrong...in this case i dont...could it just be the cold weather meaning cold tire that are just THAT slippery ? Im asking cause this is my first super sport and im still learning....but im telling you it was early and cold and i really wasnt doing anything aggressive...Any experienced riders out there could share some light and wisdom as to what ive done wrong?  cause let me tell you i was kinda stressed out next time i took the bike to my winter storage garage...it was no fun at all :/   thx

I have a '14 636 and ride pretty much all year round in switzerland. Lowest temp ride was -5 degrees celsius. Now here's my advice for you: Get a pair of Pirelli Angel GT tyres. It's a sport-touring tyre, which means it has loads of grip (you'll never experience the limits on the street, on the track you gotta take breaks bc they'll overheat) but it also warms up quickly and gives you decent grip in cold and wet circumstances. Was just riding yesterday, air temp was around 6°C and i was going pretty fast without any hussle.

Yes, super sports can be twitchy and are that powerful not to mention they come with race tires that you will never heat up properly on the street so early AM in cold...yep

No I did not but I was able to find something alot faster and more affordable not to say that I wouldn't get this in the future but for now I love the bike I have Honda cbr600rr 2003 yellow with a full yoshimura exhaust plus an kn filter and a power commander rear vortex sproket and a speedo healer. It's beautiful and Its fast enough for me.

Zx6r the gsxr looks ugly and you will get grouped in with the Squids that normally ride them also they have the most mid rang power out of all the 600cc bikes and that's something the 600cc class seriously lacks

New cbr is amazing :) I know I have one ...but a little under powered which is why I'm here watching this video ... If Honda produced more power in their 600s I wouldn't buy anything else

Not sure if anyone has asked this yet but... what are your thoughts between ZX6R vs. 675(R)? I'm in the market for a new bike and have narrowed it down to those two, and I'd be interested in your opinion since you highly recommend both so well. Insight appreciated.

(The 600RR was in the mix for a while, but it got knocked out b/c I feel like it' just dated compared to these two... agree?)

I started on a Kawasaki KLR 250. I loved it! You could practice in the dirt without cars AND you could go on road and if you panic the brakes don't lock or if you give too much throttle by accident, no big deal. Also, you drop it and it's no big deal. It was old so I was relaxed. I can't imagine stressing learning AND not wanting to damage it. I paid $1500.

No, a race bike is not a good first bike for ANY rider. In fact it's much worst than learning to drive in a GT3 Porsche. You need a standard bike like Ninja 300 or 500. Even a 650 would be a better options. Race bikes don't care about how much respect you think you will have for them. A car pulls out on you on a race bike without training and it's not gonna be pretty. Too powerful EVERYTHING. Brakes and power.
