Usually we stick to testing everyday road cars, but every once in a while we get a hold of something a little more interesting. This was my first ride in a Hennessey tuned vehicle, and it was nothing short of impressive. The 0-60 time is about average for a sports car, but for a truck? Pretty amazing to me.....

From Hennessey Performance's Website:
"VelociRaptor 600 Upgrade:
• Centrifugal Supercharger System
• Air-to-Air Intercooler
• High Flow K&N Air Filter
• Fuel Injector Upgrade
• Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
• High Flow Catalytic Converters
• Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust
• All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
• HPE Engine Management Calibration"

never done a timed quarter mile. i added some weight above the rear wheels to give it some more grip and i have some really nice racing tires that i swap on and off that give me a decent amount more grip than the standard ones.  I cant launch with my foot to the floor, gotta wait until it starts going a little bit before i floor it.

+MegaDmayo For that matter my stock '07 Chevy 3/4 ton with the 6.6 Duramax does 0-60 in the 6.7 range. My dad's stock '12 Ram 1 ton with the 6.7 Cummins probably gets it in 6.9. On a 0-60 or quarter mile, cutting more than an entire second off is huge, and the Raptor being around 6.6 at stock to 5.4 post mod is a pretty big deal.

8s is what my diesel ford focus reaches 60mph in, so it's not that fast.  You would be better taking off all the rubbish added, like a K&N Air Filter that is much smaller in surface area and restricts the airflow.  Cars leaving the factory as standard are set for maximum performance.  Once you fall victim of so-called tuning companies, you are throwing your money in the bin.  After seeing how rubbish various K&N filters are, I would never use them as they do not pass as much air as a correct paper filter that is 13 times bigger in surface area.  The K&N has big holes so doesn't filter, I also had £219.20 worth of damage to a MAF sensor when the oil come off the filter and broke it.  Since then I did lots of research and think anyone falling for the false claims from tuning companies are the type that fall for Nigerian Scams - they have the same intelligence level.  Tell boy racers a product is good, they buy anything, it's amazing how much money they will spend.
