At 2:10 you said you returned the mavic2 Pro yet gave it such great review could you comment on why?

Excellent footage! I have a mavic air and love it but I have been wanting to do some still footage. Flipping between the p4p and mavic 2 pro. You sold me, now to find the end of a rainbow or money tree.

This. The minute I heard you returned it in the video, I instantly paused and looked for comments on why as it was sort of counter-intuitive to the video title and confused me. That, and I just bought one yesterday and it somewhat freaked me out :) Thanks for the explanation good sir.

Absolutely! Because it was on loan and it had to go back for others to have a chance to review it. Do I want to buy one of my very own? Yes. A lot. Thanks for asking this! I was actually thinking after the video went up that little bit sounded weird and wouldn't be easily understood without context. Appreciate you letting me provide that context. -Jaron

I hate to say it but you're the problem we have in the drone flying . Flying in the night time with no beacon ? dude ! you need to bone up on the rules ! I'm new to this but I have a commercial rotorcraft rating and you are the people that scare me because this isn't the wild west. If this is ok in this community . I got to tell you , you will be regulated out of the sky.

Hmm,why you got so much noise on your footage filmed? Bad color grading? Bad camera? I own a dji mavic 2 zoom ,and the image look sharper, and no noise. Is like the footage are filmed with few diferent cameras .2.20 one example

should I get this over the zoom, I'm coming from a spark so I wanted to keep my budget but I'll invest if its worth it, I just dont want the mavic air in case the radio isn't as great like the spark

+imagingresource i bought the zoom combo and after a while it struck me that the zoom kinda a gimmick. Color grading gonna be hard on both if you dont have good computer to work with. Since both only have normal and d cinelike/dlog color profile. But im more to photo than video so im planning to get the pro. Waiting for either black friday or eid celebration sales.

+imagingresource so you would say just get a mavic pro or just stick to my spark until I can save up for a mavic 2 pro because I also like the mavic pro zoom because it has a little wider lens than the pro 2 but I guess that its not really that different ?

The zoom is, for the most part, a gimmick. Zooming with a lens only is necessary for that one special look it can do, otherwise you can manually zoom by moving the drone closer or farther away. If you want to save money, the original Mavic Pro is a great deal now, and still a nice drone. The Pro 2 would be my recommendation if price is not a concern.

I dont agree. I have the m2p, the p4p and the inspire 2 and 99% of the time i use the p4p and the inspire. I still prefer the image quality of the p4p.

yes, from every single footage i've seen, p4p contains more stable picture with a lot of more details etc. m2p is nice, but they shouldn't mess with video output, if they brags with 1nch, 4k super duper sensor, backed up by hasselblad optics etc.

You can make the shutter whatever you want in Hyperlapse mode. I did one of a city the other night at 0.5s shutter speed.

dash3dot In reply to Luke Bell

+imagingresource no, you just have to set everything in advance on the ground, the shutter speed you desire etc and THEN turn the hyperlapse on, it works the same way with ISO settings in DLOG, it wont let you go above 1600 in DLOG mode selected but if you set it to 3200 first and then switch to DLOG mode it will still show 1600 in setting but it will actually work in 3200.

It's also possible that they updated this since I tested it. At launch, it could not. I know it was something they were considering though. If this is true, awesome!

Maybe your settings were wrong or something? Was it in manual? And saving to RAW? Also, just stabilize it in post in warp stabilizer. It will look perfect.

Fantastic review... All of the footage was amazing. Had the Mavic Pro Platinum, which I sold last month, and just bought the 2 Pro this evening (arrives Saturday). Been a commercial pilot, amateur photographer, and been flying RC for 3 years. This new platform takes all that to a new and exciting level. Can't wait to fly it. Thanks again, this footage is about the best I've seen come from the Mavic 2 Pro (or any camera drone for that matter) and your comments reassured me that I definitely made the right move!

No I don't think so. You can see still the props in the video if you accelerate quickly. Also you can't use it with 2 operators and it lacks the real 4k 60fps video and the camera doesn't turn as much as Inspire 2 and it does not resist wind so well for example in case you are having low battery life and wind is blowing towards the drone.

It don't cost what the Inspire 2 costs so its still a great drone for its price range, if not the best :)

In video I correct for that in DaVinci Resolve. You can see in the before and after photo of the falls at 5:09, that he corrected for it, probably in Photoshop.

Hi John! I'm not going to tell you that you MUST buy this drone, especially since your current drone is less than two years old, maybe even less than one. It's up to you to decide if you need to buy this one. I can tell you that the camera is hugely improved over every single fixed-camera drone on the market, especially for capturing stills. It's unbeatable in its category for that. If you primarily shoot video, the original Mavic is likely still good enough in most cases, but if your primary goal is to make photos the Mavic 2 Pro is definitely worth investing in. -Jaron
