      Because they can make already over 400 torque with a v6 ecoboost... why would they twin turbo a 5 liter v8 that would be such a gas guzzler u would be filling up at the gas station and wasting money soooo often... the entire purpose of the ecoboost engine is to be fuel efficient while delivering v8 power and the reality is they are actually faster than 5.0 v8 so they serve there purpose well.

      Didn't make the 3.5 a stronger block because at the time they couldn't produce enough fuel to increase much more without making it more complicated and expensive be nice if they made the raptor engine an option into the f150 that has port/direct injection.

      All the people that say Ford should have put twin turbo on the 5.0 I would of loved to see that makes getting hyper car performance easyier but it is more about fuel economy and the EPA would probably not let them or government never would of given them grant money.

      I'm more curious as to when the 3.5L Ecoboost Gen 2 will be seen on the Taurus and Explorer. Next year maybe? This redesign seems to address most of the complaints the Gen 1 motor had and would be nice to see it outside of only pickup trucks.

      I personally love the 2016 3.5 ecoboost explorer sport . Couple mods and I am 440hp daily reliable , well kinda . just got it back from the dealer guess my ptu doesn't like to hold power for long. We will see how long the new one last. But the motor is top notch. Love it.

      I have a ecoboost, and I hate it, I use it for work and I'm at the pump every single day, and I've already had to replace a torque converter.... I wish I woulda never turned away from the 5.0

      Not sure if I want this or a v8. I'm a car guy so my heart says Turbos, but my truck friends say v8 or get lost basically, or get a turbo diesel (which i'd only opt for the 6.7) so that's out of my reach. I don't tow heavy things, and probably won't ever, so any thoughts on which I should go for In the 2015-2017 F-150s? Not asking to be a GTR or anything but does it have enough get up? Nothing is more frustrating then having no over taking (passing) power.

      Just traded up from my 2011 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4WD, 6.5ft. bed, 6 speed Xmission with all available XLT packages including FX4 with gen 1 3.5L Ecoboost to new 2017 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4WD, 6.5ft bed, 10 speed Xmission, all available XLT packages except for the FX4 skidplates. The new Max tow package upgrades fuel tank from 25 gal. to 36 gal. tank. They had to bring in my truck from another dealer because of my color, bed length and other options packages, I was there when the driver that brought it from 90 miles away showed up. He came in and was bragging that he had transported a couple of the SUV's with the 2.7 ecoboost and that my new truck had gotten much better mileage with the new gen 2, 3.5 Ecobosst 10 speed setup. He said that he's driven all of the ecoboosts in F-150's with all the Xmission combo's offered and was the most impressed with the new Gen 2, 3.5 Eco 10 speed combo. I have to agree so far, I've only had mine about 3 days now and have to admit it's a very noticeable improvement over my 2011. Only wish I could have gotten the FX skid plates on the new one, they just didn't have my options available anywhere. I'll put the plates on myself in a couple of months, being farm country want to have them for the field rocks brush, especially to protect the bigger 36 gal. tank.

      You have to have a screw loose to think this junk is good fuel econ of a v6tell u spool up the turbo's and when you start pulling high Hp out longgevety goes a aluminum block? Junk. What is it with the Hp? Want to go fast build a drag car not a car truck. Shit bilders. Fords better idea y dident ford partner with getrag for a trans ? Junk junk junk I love my ram!
