Any concerns with Hardie Board and wet cement ? I have 3 cabinets with gaps for dishwasher and fridge. I am concerned that the wet cement will weakend the board. I will build in support for the empty spaces but still concerned with bowing when the hardieboard gets wet..

Hardie Board is waterproof. Won't hurt it in the least.

If you do a little research the clips put the mesh in the middle of the concrete doing 0 benifit. in a flex sinerio there is 0 stress on the center. concrete deals well with compress not good will pulling. if you put pressure down on it the bottom of the concrete will pull apart. So the mesh needs to be on the bottom ore 1/4 in from the bottom. a double layer on top and bottom would be better as it would cover if you try to lift the counter later and putting heavy weight on it. But putting the mesh in the middle serves 0 benifit.
Mesh good idea, clips bad idea. Better off screwing the mesh and putting the screws 5mm off the bottom.

''Patented'' Haven't Americans learned anything over the last 500 years? Patenting is nonsense, bordering on criminal much of the time and a crime against humanity the remainder. Bet you do not even know why that is! Patenting assert that one person, on the entire planet, came up with a new idea. This has never been the case, never will be. Patenting denies others the fruit of education and progress. Patenting is an aggressive legal tactic adopted by people who say they want to protect intellectual property, but IP is bound truly and only to written material; creative works and art.
You cannot patent what is the 'fruit' of a good engineering education, because the entire planet MUST have those ideas and inventions, and their derivatives and improvements within the commons to be any good, the alternative is elitism; from petty elitism as seen in BORAT, to degenerate and vile elitism such as we see with royal families, politicians and starlets.

I think you’re right to a degree. That being said, greed is god here. Don’t upset yourself to much to a situation that will not change. You are obviously smart to this, but sadly, it won’t change

They have a product at Home Depot, Lowe's and, if not mistaken, Wal-Mart called ShapeCrete. It is basically the same thing. But to answer your question, the stores that sell ShapeCrete also sell a variety of colors separately as well as a resin-type veneer. Hope this helps.
