With so many new crossover utilities on the market, trying to make one stand out from another usually comes down to the details. But rather than focus on extra all-weather ruggedness, or cavernous cargo hauling, Chevrolet’s all-new midsize Blazer adds something no other brand can. The sportiness of a Camaro. So, let’s see if that blazes a new trail worth following.

If you’re looking for a car that’s great for trips to the Costco and can navigate the terrain of Billy’s Soccer Team’s practice field the Blazer is your car. GM should been allowed to die the slow painful death it deserved. The government bailouts just encouraged more failed development and flawed performance. If it had been allowed to fail. It would have came back under new ownership and be one of the best companies in the world. Thanks to the bailouts every car company knows they can produce crap because the government will be there to bail them out no matter which party is in power. Just simply because the Democrats back the incompetent unions and the Republicans back the incompetent corporations.

"...The Blazer is the family vehicle that actually appeals to the whole family, and for that reason it upsets the Honda(Passport)on its home court."

I think the Motor Trend staff was weeping when they wrote that!

It's obviously subjective but this has to be one of the ugliest SUVs I've ever seen.

OVERPRICED ! And that 6.2 0-60 was in COLD weather conditions; would be much slower in mid summer.

We test drive the first one in our area it was a RS AWD... It was super awesome! I have a new RS LT2 V6 manual Camaro in Red Hot, same color as the Blazer was, would be a great match for my other half! A DTC trans w/paddle shifters would be nice in this along with the Camaro's 335HP engine-at least in the RS! But really you couldn't ask for more! It drove superbly!

In the event of a zombie apocalypse, where I find myself needing to flee and happen to find a blazer with a keys in it I will drive it. Other than that, it's difficult to imagine a circumstance where I'd be interested in being behind the wheel in this vehicle

Sad when the Blazer is spending more time trying to look like a Camaro vs having its own identity.

The narrow side windows and low seat height make this a very uncomfortable car to sit in. Not good not good for an SUV where you want that elevated stance for visibility. I would be surprised if this is a total failure for GM

I do agree that slapping an old name on a radically different chassis is silly. But, I do like the style of this car. And to dismiss it entirely simply because it’s named the blazer isn’t fair. People do the same thing with the eclipse cross.
